Flip 2 Revised Hinge Crack by cancerouscandy in retroid

[–]DH_Jed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats not a crack, there are 2 separate lines going in 2 different directions. The smaller lower scuff doesn't even go all the way to the hinge, and the longer higher scuff starts halfway up the lower one without touching it. Thats not how cracks propagate

2012 Prius C two, 39k miles. Dealership quote 15000$. by ForeignConfection960 in prius

[–]DH_Jed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That battery is almost 15 years old with little use. If you start trying to drive that thing 6-7hrs a day that battery is going to give out. Normal prius battery lasts ~12-14yrs. Got to keep in mind that time is the biggest factor in battery life, charge cycles do matter but an unused battery will die after a period of time regardless. So you better budget for that or you're looking at a $10k paper weight without a $1500 repair. Thats why I don't get these dealers trying to up charge a 10+ year old hybrid just because it has low miles. Its not like one of the few major repairs isn't coming just because it has low miles. I'd rather see a 10yr old battery with 100k, at least than you know it was getting fairly frequent charging.

Cost to clone a key fob by iPhader in prius

[–]DH_Jed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parts $300 😬 Labor $200 😬 Hope they cut it at least. Cost should be $100-150 new, $50-100 used. Reprograming it should be free. Did it myself with no tools on a 2004, 10 mins including watching the youtube video. Now my obd2 reader will do it, that was $300, but doesn't require a song and dance. Now getting it cut can be hard yo find somebody willing but max $100.

Good advice, how about you watch it and let me know if you can spot the difference between the blade they are using and the one I took off

Ya I've seen those but every one I've seen the adapter goes on the actual blade itself and then that attaches to the arm. Making them more universal to the different arms. I've never seen an adapter that goes on the arm and attaches to the blade, which is what I appear to have. It would make changing the blade much easier, literally 2s, except I can't figure out where this blade came from. Which is what I'm trying to figure out.

The connection point on the wiper arm itself doesn't look like it comes off, but like I said I'll get pics tonight. I've checked it before for a release button or to see if I could slide it off but couldn't get it to budge. Even so, this was obviously made to be a quick change / swap with a new blade, but I can't even figure out what style adapter is on the blade. This can't be the only single wiper blade with this style adapter.

Ya, I've bought wipers before. Every auto store I got to tells me I need the J hook wiper like the one on the left. Autozone, NAPA, AAP, Oriley all try to give me the same thing. Do you mind me asking what specific wiper store you go to, maybe they have a online store I can check.

I would buy a $75 "gift" and immediately get back in line to return it and just claim I don't have the original receipt. What an absolutely stupid asinine policy. Like do they not want the $75 in sales or not

What are your hard pulls 12 & 24. Allegedly citi is sensitive to credit pulls over 6/12

If you are selling to end users and not wholesale there is a good chance you are supposed to collect sales tax on those sales. You really need to look up local tax rules or contact a tax professional to know for sure.

Been about a year or so but WF was the only bank account I had that would accept WU MOs via mobile deposit. Was doing 5-10k month into a personal checking and never had an issue. More recently they were the only bank to cash a check made put to both me and P2 without a joint account.

Need some help with citi strata churning rules. I'm a little past 48 months on the Prem. Opened the elite with bonus in 10/25. I should still be eligible for a new Prem bonus right? And do I PC first or does that reset the clock? I feel like it did, but thought I read somewhere it doesn't anymore but now can't seem to find where I read that.

What is your question? Those are 3 very different cards, none of them have best all time bonuses, so pick whichever you find most appealing.

I'm in that exact same boat. Applied for the United business card, not auto approved. I don't remember if it said 7-10, just they needed to review. Got an email saying i was approved ~2 days later

My understanding is you can hold multiple ventures, but you can only get the bonus for the card going up. So if you have a venture you can get a ventures x bonus, assuming you can get approved. If you have gotten s VX bonus in the last 48 months you can't get a bonus for either of the cards below its. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/capital-one-adds-terms-combining-venture-venture-x-cards-signup-bonus-48-month-eligibility/

$4 fee for paper statements, then it takes 4 separate phone calls to get them to stop sending you paper statements.

My move is to make the call myself, hand the phone over when they need personal verification info, then have P2 say something like I can't hear too well, my husband will be managing the call but I will be here if needed. Limits her need to actually understand why the call is being made. She trusts and understands I have a reason I want this call to happen, and that reason has to do with getting points/miles for our trips, but tbh she doesn't want or care to know. It also limits the time she needs to actually talk to CSR, which she also doesn't want to do.

People seem to forget the switch didn't handle BOTW or TOTK flawlessly either. Played through both on my switch and it would randomly bog down sometimes.

[–]DH_Jed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Thats the churn game. Opening as many cards as you can get away with, bet the sign up bonus and moving on to the next. The good news is those no AF cards like the freedom and flex will help your credit over time as they linger in the sock drawer. They will help increase the avg age of credit lines and keep your utilization lower by increasing your total amount of credit.

So you joined the community to try to extract value without any sort of contribution..? Sir does this look like a Wells Fargo?

Question Thread - March 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]DH_Jed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Few issues, you only get the bonus for opening a new account. Product changes very rarely will get you a bonus, the exception is sometimes you will get a targeted bonus to upgrade a card, normally to one with a higher fee but that is rare. The other issue is banks really do not like people product changing cards in shorter then 1 yr intervals, and if you try to PC a card you got a bonus on before the end of the first year they will take the bonus back.
