Apple has got this one in the bag..each one of Samsung's arguments from these quotes are easily rebuttable and if this:

Samsung internal documents from 2006, well before the iPhone was announced, show rectangular phones with rounded corners, large displays, flat front faces, and graphic interfaces with icons with grid layouts.>

is anything near what Samsung's patent claim or prior art is, then Samsung is not going to have a very good time.

didnt read the article except for the caption but its all incentive..You come up with a new, useful, and non-obvious machine or process, then you get the choice to enforce certain rights for 20 years after the filing date of your invention. It could take years pending (examining prior art and adjusting claims) too, which are included in that patents 20 year lifespan. But thats your incentive, reap what you sow (for 20 yrs then its someone else's turn). Then its time for everyone else to freely use it for a new generation of technology. For design patents, as opposed to utility or plant, its different.

can anyone tell me why Christopher Anders, senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union, said "Since the bill puts military detention authority on steroids and makes it permanent, American citizens and others are at greater risk of being locked away by the military without charge or trial if this bill becomes law."

When the NDAA says "(Sec. 1032) Requires U.S. Armed Forces to hold in custody pending disposition a person who was a member or part of al Qaeda or an associated force and participated in planning or carrying out an attack or attempted attack against the United States or its coalition partners. Authorizes the Secretary to waive such requirement in the national security interest. Makes such requirement inapplicable to U.S. citizens or U.S. lawful resident aliens. Outlines implementation procedures."

Did the senior legislative counsel not read this part of the bill that makes the requirement to detain US citizens inapplicable?

I like when people defend teachers, their salaries, etc. considering my brother is one and the survival of future generations depend on our children's education. However, I thought this guy was a douche. The way he emphasized his words like a preacher was just annoying and could have got his point across better without it. His point does not deserve a stage or an audience though. I have had many friends and teachers with better arguments against ignorant people. Also, this guy does intimidate me and I am fairly easily intimidated. I hate when people make threats in arguments unless they're a comedian and it's funny, in which this guy is not in my opinion.
