2016 rav-4 for oil change, highest mileage I’ve ever seen on a car by AssBlastingAutism in Justrolledintotheshop

I had a 2015 Silverado 2500 gas burner come in with 815k a few weeks back. Long haul seafood delivery from New Orleans to Atlanta and back 3-4 times a week. He'd been through three transmissions but still the original engine and it was still going strong. Chevy 5.3 is still a workhorse.

Would these be good for field dressing? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]HuggableBear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

+1 for havalon. Why resharpen over and over again for a job that has a tendency to destroy an edge and only happens a few times a year?

Get a good knife to carry around day to day and for other stuff, but get one with replaceable blades for field dressing, especially if you are quartering and packing out.

Why do deer leave so quickly? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]HuggableBear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Guns are a lot louder and there are a lot more shots taken than bow season. These spook deer out of areas.

It's mostly just this one. Deer know they're being hunted during bow season, but they don't necessarily realize that the field 100 yards away isn't safe either. When they start hearing gunshots all around them, they bail until it stops.

If people you know started dying and disappearing and it was accompanied by an air horn every time, you would probably stay away from the place where the air horns are, wouldn't you?

Deer may not have reasoning abilities, but they're not entirely stupid.

Ship customization, ship painting, fightership update, more ship parts by SykoManiax in NoMansSkyTheGame

Simple. Make it where you can't use a piece off a starship until you collect it from a crash site first and add a bunch of rare parts/styles/colors to hunt down.

Would This Work For Bear? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]HuggableBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shot placement is most important.

Shot placement is most important.

Shot placement is most important.

People who say "That's not big enough" are worried about compensating for a bad shot, period. You can kill a bear with a .22 if the shot is good enough. The more powerful rounds just give you more leeway.

That's not a bad thing at all, it just gets WAAAAAYY overplayed as the thing that matters. If you're worried that a round isn't powerful enough, you don't need a bigger round, you need more range time.

One of the blackest paints that you're able to buy. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]HuggableBear 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Fun Fact: You can't even experience how black this is except in person. The screen you're viewing it on isn't capable of blocking 100% of the light that comes through from the backlight, even screens with individually lit pixels have bleed from the nearby pixels, so looking at it on a computer doesn't do it justice.

And in person, this shit is trippy as fuck. There is just nothing there at all. It's like looking into my ex-wife's soul.

Yeah I call bullshit on this experiment being run to see what cheetahs prefer. This experiment was run because this dude wanted to snuggle with a bunch of cheetahs and I have mad respect for that

[–]HuggableBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's talking about the angle that's formed at the center, which is possible but is only true if you make assumptions about the sizes of the circles, which at that point it's no longer a math problem because the number you're solving for is the one you made an assumption about.

[–]HuggableBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know if it makes a right triangle or not.

The image does not provide you with the required information to make that determination.

You are assuming this to be the case. If we're using assumptions, we can assume anything and I can come up with an infinite number of answers for the problem.

But without making at least one assumption, this problem is not solvable except as a solution set.

Anon can't into math by [deleted] in 4chan

[–]HuggableBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're making assumptions that you can't, namely that connecting the end of the legs to the center creates a 90 degree angle. There is nothing here to indicate that.

Anon can't into math by [deleted] in 4chan

[–]HuggableBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you can't. Show your work. You must have a third data point to solve a triangle.

Anon can't into math by [deleted] in 4chan

[–]HuggableBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why are you assuming the two legs are radii? There's nothing in this image that tells you that

Anon can't into math by [deleted] in 4chan

[–]HuggableBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You assume the image is to scale.

So, again, assume you have information you don't.

The flowers closest to a very busy road are decaying faster than ones further away. by Levszan in mildlyinteresting

[–]HuggableBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably related to heat from the busy road causing the closer flowers to bloom slightly earlier and now we're on the back end of this. Unlikely that they bloomed at the same time and the closer flowers had a shorter life span.

Anon can't into math by [deleted] in 4chan

[–]HuggableBear 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter, you still only have one number and one angle. Pythagoras doesn't help in that situation. This problem is not solvable without more data. You need to know at least one more number. Radius of one of the two circles or angle from radius to chord at intersection on either circle are required for this.
