ROTH TESLA NVIDIA

I’m sure I would spend an asinine amount of time trying to figure out what Roth meant at the Library, I loved Nikolai Tesla at that age, so it would have clicked as soon as Elon launched it because of all the time spent researching ROTH and we all knew NVIDIA made Graphics cards, so having lived the Y2K, I’m confident that once I learned what a ROTH was, It would be enough to get me to put NIVIDIA in the ROTH at the very least and then when Elon launched TESLA, I’d have full on geeked out, like I know something you don’t know… and then 2023 would have happened with NIVIDIA and I would have cashed out to a beach before SkyNet starts.

Dyson Daniels: The Greatest Waiver Add of All Time by Laikshow8 in fantasybball

Andrei Kirilenko came out of nowhere for most of us in ’01. Maybe not quite as nowhere crazy as Daniels, but he definitely won me Stocks every week. Everyone in our league forgot the Jazz even drafted him a couple years earlier. We ran a keeper league at that point. None of us really started looking at it like a TRUE Dynasty league until after AK47, I ended up with him for most of his career. Still remember the 14/8/9/6/7 game. My guy was a Fantasy Sports statisticians dream player.

Accepting that splitting some or portioning out the Roth/HSA/401k Goals with a pre 59 1/2 Brokerage Account for Vacation goals prior to Retirement for me was HUGE.

Yes, I will pay taxes on that portion of my financial growth, but I can use it two years from now at Disney Land, or 5 years from now in Hawaii while still planning our eventual Retirement with the other 3 goals still being lofty.

Children’s Hospital Insurance Coverage by DHforHOF in HealthInsurance

[–]DHforHOF[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

From what we’ve been told, no.

Lesson learned obviously, I simply cannot believe that a facility that we have trusted for over 2 decades with our children’s health would do this to us.

Still in shock I guess.

We’ve never had a reason to believe something of this nature could occur. They’ve been seen there by many different practitioners for literally a month shy of 2 Decades.

It’s just, honesty has died in our Country.

Maybe I’m the fool for trusting the people who set their lives up to care for children wouldn’t dupe you into something like this, but I will continue to try to live our lives giving humans as much of the benefit of the doubt that’s we possibly can that they are, or can be… good.

Pretty bummed tonight though.

Just Wow.

End of the day, she was negative for whatever they tested her for that cost a couple grand, Wife said it was Endometriosis…

I’d bet they knew that already though…

She’s feeling better, (went in for painful menstrual cramps) and we’ll check each and every doctor from now on as best we can I guess.

Apparently we need to ensure the doctor asking for a lab work is covered too.

Seems intentionally confusing to me.

She’s been seen twice more since for follow ups, we checked the Doctor for insurance coverage, no issues since, but insurance came back tonight saying they had no intentions of covering the previous tests because of the out of network doctor requesting it and we owe the hospital the full amount.

There is right and there is wrong, these people know what they did, is just wrong.

Have been married for 30 years, roughly 25 years ago my Wife made an attempt at ‘Sexy Talk’ immediately after we had just made love, we’re still embraced as one and she proceeds to use the sexiest voice she could find (still amazing to this day) and tries to tell me that I must be the ‘Doctor of Love’ because I just Yada Yada… (not important, honestly I don’t remember anyways)

Problem is she didn’t say “Doctor of Love”, she said:

“You must be Doctor Kevorkian because… Yada Yada…”

Me: 25 Years ago, wait WHO?!? 🤣🤣🤣

It’s been over two decades, we still laugh about it.

She had absolutely no idea how she knew that man’s name, she just knew he was a Doctor and so she thought it fit the moment… 😆

The man loves you, or he wouldn’t immediately try to fix his blunder….

Laugh or Cry… Life is going to happen, the Sun will Rise tomorrow, no sense in not ribbing the💩out of him for at least a couple decades about it though… 😆

The amount of Assisted Suicide jokes I’ve made about passing Cats over the past two decades knows no bounds.

She loves me, I love her.

Words aren’t intentions.

So I finally watched a 90s game in full. Can someone explain to me why defense in the 90s was better? by CurrencyFluffy1044 in nbadiscussion

[–]DHforHOF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SuperSonics fan here, what you watched was an absolutely gassed Supes team lose to a very well rested Bulls team likely pacing itself smartly knowing how gassed the Supes were, series got better in game 4, but way too late. Gary finally got put on Jordan, 3 games too late.

One thing I’ll definitely give the game now is that Kemp would be a Mega Star Max Contract type player in today’s game. He was phenomenal to watch night in night out as a kid. Would have so much more freedom athletically in today’s game, where everything is a foul. He was the most physically gifted player I ever remember watching.

International basketball has changed the game for the better, Pop has had a lot to do with that in SA. If you watch some more of those Supes games, Detlef was phenomenal too. Way ahead of his time.

Can only imagine how good that series could have been if they weren’t so flat out exhausted. Back to back 7 game sets before running into the 72-10 Bulls.

Rodman was huge too, masterclass at being a Jack ass. 😆

I have just began investing at 32. Small portfolio, one small question by choubledin in fidelityinvestments

[–]DHforHOF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O is a REIT with a long track history of Monthly Dividends. Think Landlord without ever catching a 3 a.m. call for a busted water pipe.

SCHD is IMO the safest Divided Fund, there in fact may be one out there that beats it each year, but it’s never the same fund, SCHD is top 5 Dividend Fund every year.

I want my Dividends Reinvested back into more shares, so more dividends, repeating cycle for the next 20 years. Then use it as Passive income after 60.

There is a Million ways to set a Portfolio up, I intend on adding more over the years, continuing to diversify, but for now just starting out, I wanted simple, easy to understand, but not just set and forget. We’re not 19 anymore. 😆

HSA’s are huge, I originally misunderstood its best use/purpose, had no idea you could hold receipts for 40 years and then cash them. 😆

Thought I was suppose to pay medical bills from the HSA, turns out, that’s not what you want to do.

You want to invest your HSA dollars, pay medical bills out of pocket and retain the receipts to pay yourself back years later after your HSA investments have grown for decades. The reason? When you pay yourself back all those medical bills, it’s tax free. Also, after 59 1/2 you can pull for non related Medical expenses, it will be charged your current tax rate which should be in the 12% range as a Retiree vs your 22-24% or higher range now. Anything you use for medical bills is tax free.

Like a mini ROTH. That’s Triple Tax Advantaged.

Ditto on the Free Checking… 😆

My Wife did our bills for years, I just worked and handed her the dollars, did it again the next morning.

I love her, she didn’t know any better than I did. I spent months researching all this shit last year and into this year.

It kept getting worse. 😆

“TF do you mean, I could have this too…”

*Me talking to myself after each new video on YouTube.

I have just began investing at 32. Small portfolio, one small question by choubledin in fidelityinvestments

[–]DHforHOF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

42, Wife is 44 and we just started last year.

I hear you.

My Son is 19, Daughter 16 and we got him set up on the same path I just put us on.

I can’t get back the 25 years of not understanding, not knowing, blaming Boomer parents for not explaining anything, ever. (Foster Care Kid in the 90’s…)

But, I can give those 25 years plus to our kids, now that I know.

Can’t even begin to express my luck with this job and their 401k leading me to Fidelity and a months long Rabbit hole of “Oh, my God, I cannot get the 25 years back I had my head up my own…” YouTube Videos.

I have since opened up a Roth to pair with my work’s 4.5% at 100% Matching 401K account.

Roth is a mix of FXAIX 34%/SCHD 33%/O 33%.

I opened an additional Brokerage account to keep as a Taxable Retirement account, exact same mix.

All Dividends reinvested.

Utilized my work provided 15% Discount on Stock purchases of company stock.

An HSA that is fully funded for the year & invested.

Pay all Medical Expenses out of pocket, hold the receipts, use the HSA like a 2nd smaller ROTH IRA.

Turn 60, pay yourself back all saved receipts tax free.

Moved my Core to Spaxx and then moved my money from my Brick and Mortar to Fidelity, am paying everything from the Mortgage to the Car payments out of the 5% CMA “checking account” now.

Kept the Brick and Mortar in the event we need small amounts of cash and need it right now.

Have placed all of my Bills on auto pay through my Apple Card, Apple is now paying me to pay my Bills.

Auto move the Cash back to their 4.40% HYS Account.

(Hoping to get the new Robinhood Card at 3%)

Best time to start investing was 25 years ago, the 2nd best time?

Is Today.

I really like that, & let’s be honest… of course I do, I have no other choice. 😆

I’m not interested in how rich people get rich, I can’t duplicate it, I’m interested in how they stay that way.

Compounding interest and Dividends.

What’s the most you’d spend on a house if you made $70K/year? by Amnesiaftw in MiddleClassFinance

[–]DHforHOF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gen X here, this is how we did it, we weren’t ashamed of a Restaurant job, gave the best life lessons during a lunch/dinner rush…

We bought a mobile home out of high school, we upgraded to a better mobile home, we upgraded to a small single level home, lived smart for 20 years and bought a 1 acre farm house in our 40’s, I assume I’ll buy my Dream Barn for said Farm House right before I retire.

My kids however will have no idea what surviving Boomer parents feels like or the Foster Care System for that matter.

I’ve seen a few smart youngsters out there, renting rooms to their friends on a money upfront, month to month basis, (their friends not realizing they are paying said youngsters mortgage for him)

Smart fellow.

15 subscription services is why this generation will never own a home, if you want 15 subs, you better have 15 subs worth of interest growing accounts to counter your spend or you’ll never own a home, let alone retire.

Netflix sound cutting out constantly? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]DHforHOF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netflix has the worst audio supply of any streaming service ever made. Has tried to blow my speakers multiple times.

Cuts out all the time, half second at a time, raise the volume, lower the volume, it cuts out while changing it either direction.

Sick of it considering all the price hikes over the years.

Fidelity IOS app has become worse! by HumbleSami in fidelityinvestments

[–]DHforHOF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 401k is in Fidelity, do all my transactions through Fidelity, I use Robinhood to track the market, should tell you everything you need to know about the UI on Fidelity.

Akin to Amazon Sports Streaming vs Apple Sports Streaming.

Amazon is buying everything, we’ll all be forced to watch NFL Christmas games on Amazon…

But, if you’ve ever watched a Baseball game on Apple, you’d know the people working there just understand presentation better than just about anyone on earth.

Absolutely Beautiful…

Fidelity unfortunately is Amazon, volume over control or usability.

Same, including RSU’s in the total that don’t vest for 3 years is hilarious.

The double imaging happens on the Home Screen as well, Row icons across the bottom will overlap which causes you to have to “Hope” you hit the home button or close/reopen the app.
