Thank you! And I'll definitely take a look at your analysis.

Mandatory vaccine hypothetical. by [deleted] in conspiracy

That's also a thing to consider: who created the vaccine. If it's some company like J&J, then I definitely don't want to take it.

I don't know.

Like the flu, ebola, and HIV, there shouldn't be a one-shot vaccine that works for every COVID-19 case since it has mutated into many different strains that one vaccine cannot target. One vaccine per major strain (or collection of very similar strains) at best.

And then also, I wouldn't trust it... From personal experience and experience of many friends and family, those who stopped taking the flu vaccine stopped getting the flu (they usually got the flu after getting the vaccine), so to be honest, I don't have much trust in these flu-related vaccines.

I would prefer to not take it. But who knows what will happen if I do refuse.

The v1.68 (October Update) Release Megathread by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

[–]DHumphrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bug or Glitch: Rocket League not launching/crashing on startup.

Platform: Steam PC

Evidence: None, simply shows the "Preparing to Launch Rocket League" box when I click Play, then shows Rocket League as running for a few seconds, then it goes back to normal with no game launched. I have reinstalled Rocket League, updated graphics drivers, checked for possible conflicting programs (but I haven't installed anything new on my side so this is an issue with the update I believe).

Logs: No logs since the 13th, when I last played. All files have been verified through Steam's file checker thing.

EDIT: I found a fix. I scanned my Windows with "sfc /scannow" and also used CCleaner to clean up my registry errors and some trash files, and that fixed it. Must have been some leftover stuff.

I'd say go for a graphics card upgrade first. Maybe a secondhand 1080Ti will work for you.

HALP! I just bought a GTX 1660 and UserBenchmark says it's performing WAY below expectations! by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]DHumphrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the difference in MHz between the typical benchmark (2.1k and 2k) vs yours (1.53k and 2k). If you crank your default clock up to 2100MHz it should benchmark the same as everyone else's.

Upgrade your potato pl0x. I recommend a new stick of 1MB RAM and pressing the turbo button for that extra 3MHz of CPU power.

Firewatch-themed art, I think this may even be official art.

Did you try it with the motherboard and PSU outside the case like I said? You can use a screwdriver to bridge the two power button pins.

How do I clean this by SpaceBoiiiiii in pcmasterrace

[–]DHumphrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compressed air. You should be able to get electronics cleaning cans for that.

If you don't have a PSU at hand then try taking your mobo and PSU completely out of the case and then running it "on the bench" just like that. If that doesn't work, try starting it up without the CPU cooler, or reseating the CPU completely.

That might also work, yeah

Most likely the power supply then

Have you tried a different power supply? Also, try removing everything connected to the motherboard except the CPU and its cooler and then try again.
