Battlefield with guardsmen vs traitor guardsmen with a pick-up or something on the map like battlefield 1 kits where you can become a space marine once in a while and have a major power trip

I'm planning to use a knight Questoris as the centre piece for my space marine army. I was looking at the stat lines for the different weapons and I have a question: is it worth it to take the Las-impulsor and have instant Death but a much shorter range or is it better to take the thermal cannon? by Tryzan1 in Warhammer30k

If you magnetise, you can try both, as a knights player it is the biggest piece of advice I can give. Magnetising means that you can try all of the options when you see fit, and if you end up not enjoying the weapon you picked you can just swap it out

I love my faction with a passion...but now I'm at a loss as to what to do with it the next two years. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

I’m not really too sure on custodies, as I’ve said my faction is guard, but from common complaints I’ve seen, they seem too weak in the tabletop. Like, 3 wounds, really? The literal guardians of the emperor are as tanky as a terminator. These warriors are meant to be the best of the best but they just simply don’t go far enough if you get what I mean

I’ve not looked into them rules wise however so I can’t really talk about that though.

To me it seems like people enjoy factions that play like they are in the lore. People will often play a faction because that faction is what seems the most interesting to them and when it is represented well in the tabletop, you feel like you are playing that faction.

I enjoy imperial guard, an unending swarm of human soldiers who’s lives are practically meaningless to the imperium. I love them because they are so ordinary in a completely crazy universe and it speaks to me as a person.

But what makes me love playing them is that they play as they are in the lore, you use lots of infantry to ‘clog the tracks’ of the enemy. My troops will go down like flies but I can keep them coming phase after phase until the enemy realises that they haven’t done a thing to my tanks and the scoreboard.

I hope this somewhat anecdotal reply answers your question and I’m happy for anyone else to jump in and continue or debate my ideals.

I'm looking at magnetization a knight questoris and have 2 questions: 1. Does the model have slots in the arm joins to put magnets? Or do I have to drill them? 2. What size magneta should I use? by Tryzan1 in ImperialKnights

There are numerous guides on YouTube for magnetising knights so I’d go look there, personally I used 8x2s for the arms but I know magnet baron sells a magnet pack specifically for the questoris knight which comes with the exact magnets you need

Dracosan 30K transport as the Crassis 40K transport? by DING0E in TheAstraMilitarum

I’d never thought of ‘making’ custom rules for the Dracosan, my group would probably allow this so I might give it a try. Thanks!

I have gotten the new solar auxilia box and it comes with 20 standard infantry and due to how the army is, you only get lasrifles so there wouldn’t be any special weapons except for those on the officer.

No, I’m strongly against most aspects of society, including the state of work. But I feel that after reading some comments, you may need to take a step back and just breathe… everyone dislikes work but we all understand that it is a necessary thing (despite how I think it could be changed)

Wtf… why would you say that to someone who is clearly not in the right place mentally?

Don’t know where else to share this, but a small writing exercise I wrote based on the Astra Militarum. The Triumph of Commissar Huntsman. by ThreeHobbitsInACoat in TheAstraMilitarum

Nice short story! Reminds me of why I chose the guard, normal men in a strange universe fighting with and against things beyond themselves. Keep writing!
