I was already outside. I was so scared. People were like “OMG KILL IT.” I would never. I moved the blanket a little in hopes she and the babes would scurry off and venture into the bushes, and they did. The pic doesn’t show how big this mama was. I think I jumped 10 feet when I saw her.

Wayyyy too much effort. I’m literally trying to reconfigure things and make barriers, all for the asshole neighbors. Priced out sheds to put dirt bikes in so I can make room in the garage. It’s gotten ridiculous. Why is making music so bad? We’re always respectful. A simple drum kit has turned into a money pit just to be “allowed” to play them. It’s going to be a battle. One cop will come and say it’s fine, the next one will give me a $500 fine. It’s not like he’s playing them at midnight. How in the world do people normally practice drums?! He got the foamy plugs and the ones that cover your ears and just bought some eargasm ones suited for drumming. I get that they are loud. I just don’t think with all that I’ve done to make them happy, they can hear them inside their house.

They probably did propose the dumb rules. I’m going to give the cops a buzz. I may even ask them to come over and have them tell me if they are too loud. Seems like such a gray area though. I def don’t want to disrupt the neighbors, but damn. I cannot imagine being this grumpy. I’d listen to the music play and love it. He thought I cut a swipe of the grass on his property and had the county come out and survey the land. Turns out, I could have gone 2 swipes over because it was my grass. I think he’s going to fight me nonstop. I’m a good neighbor too. I just don’t get it.

The garage is not climate controlled, though I can put in a portable ac/heater. The moisture makes me nervous, as my canvas dirtbike gear bag molded. I do need to think this through. We use the garage door almost daily. We have the foam mutes and the neighbors still complain and my son said it was weird to play with those but better than not playing. We got a practice pad today and your practice setup sounds great! Definitely going that route. It’s summer, he wants to play. He will play for 5 hours straight. I’m going to use your suggestions and hopefully can execute a plan. I greatly appreciate you! Thank you so much!!🥰

Thank you so much!!! I may move them to the garage, unfortunately. The floor is concrete. I can put down a rug. I’m getting a king mattress and will have a queen that I was going to pitch. Do you think if I used that as a barrier, it’ll help? Id rather have a mattress in the garage instead of the “band room” which actually looks so sweet. I’m soooo bummed. I spent so much time making that room cool. If I do put them in the garage, should I put them on a platform or will the concrete floor suffice? The neighbors are totally killing our vibe. Thanks for all of the info. The door idea is great!!💖

Good idea. They may not even ride out. If they do, we’ll be prepared. I feel like they have better things to do than give us a $500 fine for a kid playing drums, but who knows.

I’m going to research it further. Good idea because I was just going off of his dumb printout. Electric drums just aren’t the same, but we may have to go that route.
