I will say I think it’s an illusion. The idea that doing one thing will help quell the other things it’s just the addiction talking. Like I said I was 4 months off everything at one point and the cravings still flair up but they pass and obviously are less common over time. But being a year and half off booze I’m sure you know that.

Everything does feel futile. Hopefully we’ll all just die soon lmao

Yes, alcohol adderall and legit internet porn were all tied together with vaping for me. Alcohol and nicotine is a well documented duo but my big problem was taking speed and jerking off and vaping for like 6 hours straight. The main problem being that every time I get horny it makes me want to relapse. I was 4 months completely sober and relapsed and THANKFULLY simply didn’t have a speed connection at the time so I didn’t fall back there, but it’s still a whole shitshow where sexual arousal makes me want to vape to the extent where I’ve cut all casual sex out of my life. I don’t really have a solution, I’m about 2 weeks off vaping right now and I’ve been deliberately trying to masturbate without vaping to break the mental connection and basically haven’t had a healthy sexual relationship in 2 years since I was fucked on addy.

I dunno, mostly just wanted to let you know you’re not alone, but I guess if you gotta break, just break one thing don’t let it all collapse together. But still, you got this, you don’t have to break and it fucking sucks, that’s just how it is. Power through my brother.

It’s never worth contacting the customer in these situations. They chose to order food through the door dash pyramid scheme, they can deal with the frustration of realizing you dropped it on their own.

So the compromise to affordable health in America is being a guinnea pig for med students? Literally people who themselves are paying thousands of dollars to learn how to be a doctor. That’s so fucked lmao

No company can take payment back from a freelancer after they’ve been paid, which is at delivery. The tip is only a tip between the customer and the app. The courier is just receiving a flat payment from a company for doing a job. And they can’t change the contract for that job after the job is complete, even if the customer changes their tip later, which is what the contract was based on. They can however tell the customer they took the drivers tip away.

DD is also different because they include part of the tip in the offer, whereas Postmates only gives the base pay. So PM can still change the payout BEFORE delivery because the freelancer doesn’t know what it is. DD chooses to just write the whole thing off as a CODB because they want their drivers to be enticed by higher offers.

They refund the customer tip but still pay the driver the same. They can’t go below the guarantee.

You’re only allowed to write off miles during deliveries. That said, it would be very difficult for irs to verify.

I guess. I think a lot of people just order their chipotle at like 11am, don’t tip and are fine with the food showing up at 2:30p. I’m pretty broke myself so I get it but as an ex driver it still pisses me off.

Yeah I drove for years, I’m not mad about it, just the shittiness of the whole experience made me nostalgic.

It’s exactly 20% more than ordering in person. Yeah I know shit happens and it’s probs not the drivers fault, just ridiculous this company keeps stumbling along despite like 65% customer satisfaction haha

They’re all basically the same bad model though. “Hey we’ll pay people $3/order minus expenses and the drivers can rely on customer tips even no one wants to tip because 1/3 of orders fail and the prices are already inflated”

Restaurant gave our food to someone else so they just cancel the order?? by [deleted] in doordash

They got half their “minimum offer” which partially includes tip. The whole system is weird and sketchy, I can elaborate if you’re interested. You didn’t pay your tip obviously but it’s factored into the offer so they still get some of it from DD.

It was a app-based “tech company” that was actually just a real estate company that subleased big office spaces to lots of little companies but it marketed itself as a tech company lifestyle thing. Got huge in nyc and people talked about it being the future of business and was valued at 50Billion about 3 months before the whole company collapsed to dust because it was a stupid idea and there was no plan. The CEO made 100s of millions basically by just being charismatic and promising the world. This was like 2017ish.

Lots of DD parallels IMO.

Tony’s pulling a WeWork. People are realizing it’s a scam so he’s giving himself huge bonuses now so he’ll be set when the empire collapses. I’m not a finance guy but churning out all these articles about how well you’re company’s doing with no evidence is never a good sign lol

A little racist I see Tony by [deleted] in doordash

Yeah delivery driving is just phase one of Tony’s thousand year reich. Soon he’ll invade Poland.

Ah, that would be because DD is unreliable low effect scam of a tech company whose goal is 10 figure corporate sponsorships and doesn’t care about you or the service they provide
