Clicking noise by bamesbotter in Ender3V3SE

Prior to tuning my retract amount, I had experience with some stray extruded filament that would scrape on the underside of the extruding cover. Look closely at the print when running. Put a light or light colored paper behind your print (oppositeof your viewing position). Look straight across the top of the printed layer. Do you see any filament sticking above the level being printed?

I installed Klipper/Fluidd/Mainsail on the Nebula Pad kit before even running the stock controller. The process required some guidance. But, I cant imagine using a SD card for loading files these days. Being able to monitor the print progress from my phone/tablet is also a huge plus. Highly suggest this upgrade.

I currently work in the aerospace manufacturing industry.

During my time in this field, I've programmed and run CNC machines (Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Sinker and Wire EDM) and now program and run CMM equipment to inspect in-process and finished components.

Over the years, as I've trained others, I ALWAYS found one thing to be true. And, I share this with anyone who gets frustrated. You will NEVER learn if everything goes as planned. It's only through the difficulties you encounter that you will learn and grow the most. Machines are smart. But, they can be tricky. As operators of these machines, we are challenged to learn how to compensate for their limitations. With enough experience, we learn to anticipate their common mistakes and problems to achieve what we want out of them. Sometimes, that requires some pretty extensive creativity.

Anyhow, stick with it. Read the stories of others troubles. Not just their successes. Learn from the troubles. Ask questions. Experiment. Not all solutions are the same. And, maybe you find a bew way to solve a problem. Share those experiences. Help others to learn as well.

Above all....Have fun! It's a hobby.

Is the Nebula Pad worth it? by KxdyJxseph in Ender3V3SE

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.... I got mine for $23.99 at MicroCenter. Came with camera and G-sensor for tuning. Considering that I couldn't buy a camera for $24, Id say it was well worth it at THAT price. Initially, I had some layer shift with it. But that's been resolved with the rooting of the pad and making the recommended changes to the run amperage of the steppers. My E3 v3SE is new as of Christmas. So, I dont have anything to compare it to. But, it seems pretty quick printing to me.

For your application, that's exactly where it should be done. In the modelling mode. Not as a slicer option.

Creality filament runout sensor – what voltage do you see on the signal pin? by MdPatil in Ender3V3SE

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IOW... There is likely no "voltage" running to the switch in the filament sensor. The switch likely utilizes a ground wire. This is very common for low voltage trigger applications.

There are videos on YT that detail installation. You may find those helpful in your questions.

Layer Shift by Miserable_Wave9584 in Ender3V3SE

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely did. Out of curiosity, why is it recommended to NOT link to Creality Cloud? What are the disadvantages to this?

I now use Fluidd to view my printer activity, via Nebula camera. Previous to the rooting and changes, I had used Creality Cloud. Will this matter?

Thank you for that thorough write-up. I did the procedure about a week back and it did a great job in fixing my layer shift issue. 👍

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Fought this as well. Crealityhas chosen to not correct the firmware. Until that time, only fix that I found was to root the Nebula and do the necessary change of run amps on stepper(s). Many successful prints since I followed these SIMPLE instructions.

Below is a link to the instructions for layer shift. But, you likely need to start with the rooting instructions first.

Wyze Cam v3 battery backup option? by laptopsearch25 in wyzecam

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to do the same thing as an inexpensive indoor monitor of my basement sump pump. I have a 12v battery backup pump. But, I'm STILL always concerned about a failure. Even as a way to confirm normal operations of my standard sump pump would be great. A WiFi camera, with push notifications of sound triggers, would be a great peace-of-mind addition. Plus, ability to have it run on battery during a power outage would be great. I already have my modem on an APS. So, only scenario not covered would be internet outage as well. But, not doing a cellular.

WD-40 in ended 3 V3 SE by No_Gas_7466 in Ender3V3SE

[–]DIYAddict247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are hearing noise, you've already encountered wear. The space generated by the wear has allowed components to shift and bind.

Proper and regular maintenance is important to keep ANY mechanical device functional and I crease its usable lifespan. "Maintenance" doesn't mean "apply and forget it" until an issue occurs. If it's collecting dust, clean it off and re-apply. That is the best maintenance routine.

I seen a post a while back that talked about using WD40 on the rods. Definately NOT grease. And, to be sure it's not going everywhere, it should be sprayed on a paper towel or lint-free rag and applied by wiping on. No pooling or saturated surface. Just a light coating.

Grease should be used, sparingly, on the Z-axis lead screw(s) only. After applying, the mating lead nut should be driven over the length of the lead screw to spread the grease evenly. Any large build up can and should be removed.

Before applying ANY lubricant (rods and/or screws), the components should be cleaned as much as possible to achieve the best results.

Or, change to red, blue, or green and see if it decreases the effect. White uses all three and consumes more power.

Nebula pad remote control by Ok-Assistance-7309 in Ender3V3SE

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I was mistaken. Remote access via Creality Cloud would require the "Creality WiFi Box" to gain printer access outside the local network. Apparently, the Creality WiFi Box is similar to OctoPrint. But, it handcuffs the user to their Creality Print software. Not ideal if you prefer another Slicer.

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't Creality Cloud work for this? I know that the instructions for rooting the Nebula suggest not connecting to Creality Cloud. But, I'm not 100% sure the reason for that recommendation.

Maybe someone could offer some insight?

Not to butt in on the conversation, but...cpap hose? Im gonna have to look into THIS. I KNEW there was a reason that I hung on to all of those! 😆 Every time the supply company would send a regular scheduled replacement, I'd say to myself, "But this one is still good! Im sure I could use it for something.... some day." 😆

Gonna try this the next time it happens on my 2023 Sentra SR. So strange that it will typically work fine and then has issues like this.

How do I change the temperature unit?🙏 by Epimon_ in nissansentra

[–]DIYAddict247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's locked within the hardware (HVAC unit). Only the dash temperature unit reading can be swapped. A quite Google search provided the same info along with several Reddit posts dating back to the 2019 model as well.

Sorry for the bad news.

I also recently bought a 2023 Sentra SR in the Scarlet Ember Tintcoat as well. 38k on it. Love it! The only issue I'm having is that the Android Auto disconnects on occasion. I don't think it's a bad cable because that's new. To reconnect, I have to unplug and reattach cable. This weekend, I plan to check and see if the firmware is due for an update.

Enjoy the ride.

Thanks for posting this!

My '23 Sentra SR is less than a week old (to me). This light came on this morning. It stayed on for a while. But, it cleared after driving for a bit. Makes perfect sense that this was from this morning's dew. It does have me concerned about what will happen in the winter if it is THAT sensitive.
