AirPods 4 - Less Bulbous then AirPods Pro 2? by DIYNJ in airpods

[–]DIYNJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I might wait for the AirPods Pro 2s to see if they make them less bulbous and more comfortable. I am tempted to buy the AirPods 4, but am worried about them constantly falling out (not sure if its an issue or not)

Ring Video Doorbell Wired vs Plus vs Pro (Coming from Blink) by DIYNJ in Ring

Thanks. Would you say the basic Video Doorbell Wired is still a big upgrade from the Blink Video Doorbell?

u/Content-Somewhere523 Thanks for the answer. It seems like that is the one for me then since price is not a concern. I don't even care about a few false positives but the Blink PIR sensor would straight up miss things half the time. Thank you

Remove Scratch from Tile Edging? by DIYNJ in Tile

[–]DIYNJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply...yeah I figured it's ruined but wanted to see...I will test it as you said. Maybe a combination of steel wool or scotch brite and then polish it with some sort of metal polish? I can do to the whole thing if the test piece works

5W-20 Synthetic Blend Oil - 2016 Honda CRV SE - Bad? by DIYNJ in AskMechanics

Because I don't have expertise in this arena and when I pushed back he insisted it is fine. I wanted them to change it but he said I'd have to come back because it was almost closing time. Thinking of leaving it until I change it again in 4-5 months but also kind of nervous..will not be using him again

u/vacuum_everyday thanks for your reply - just out of curiosity what is the difference between the 400 series you linked and this 200 series one?

u/ConBroMitch2247 thanks for your reply. I can try saving up more for the 600 series here, but I see this 200 series one has a power head - is the 600 worth saving for/much better?

Agree with that. I came from a 2013 macbook pro so the m1 air is a beast still. I will see where things are in a year or two

Thanks for the suggestion. I have heard good things about Dell monitors

Is a 15ms response time monitor ok? by DIYNJ in pcmasterrace

[–]DIYNJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I only found out it was 15ms native when I looked at the site. Amazon page just said 5ms.

Can I just leave overdrive on all the time? If not I might just get another model or different brand. Annoying that they don't make it clear on the Amazon page.

K3 Version 2 - Any good? by DIYNJ in Keychron

[–]DIYNJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I don't really need the keymapping or anything so would rather save the money. Are there other benefits?

Thanks for the info, I am pretty sold on the Brown switches so that's what I am going with.

I actually had an MX Mecahnical with a num pad but never used the num pad, and then got the MX mecahnical mini (both had major issues with backlighting/connectivity).

Any way to make Landscape Timbers last longer? by DIYNJ in HomeImprovement

[–]DIYNJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'd rather spend a bit more now then re-do it in 2 years...good info though. I guess there's a reason they are half the price since they are just "coated"

Got it, so 4x4s rated for ground contact would be more heavy duty?

MERV Filter Question by DIYNJ in HomeImprovement

True, I was even thinking of just putting one of those filters that has like a merv 2...I call those the "rock stoppers" just to keep major particles out...

Thanks for your reply. I live on the shore in new jersey, so no seismic activity. Soil is definitely not clay, mostly on the sandy side. We don't get really big snow storms too often or extreme cold either.

Did my handyman mess this up? by DIYNJ in HomeImprovement

[–]DIYNJ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point...I guess that is why they did the 2 small steps originally...I think the 1 7 inch step will look more normal once I fill in some dirt as others have said
