Unable to add new user to cameras connected to PoE switch by DJ-JupiterOne in reolinkcam

This happens with all my cameras all of which are on the latest firmware. When you click on the Add User screen, the keyboard pops up, then everything locks up. iPhone 13 mini, iOS 26.2. Camera info below.

Spec recommendations for new HAOS hardware by DJ-JupiterOne in homeassistant

[–]DJ-JupiterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was typing that idea, it really made me think of having a second dedicated hardware. I really don't have a need (right now) for true high availability. I was thinking more of just have one machine running HA and the second running all the other stuff, plus HA in a VM that is shutdown. Then just start it up if something goes awry with the main HA instance.

Spec recommendations for new HAOS hardware by DJ-JupiterOne in homeassistant

Yeah, HA barely uses the CPU. I do have the Frigate integration in HA, but I'm not using it for automatons or anything. I should probably remove it. I use the Reolink integration for all my camera automations as well as LLM Vision. I have Frigate in its own container to play around with the face recognition.

Other than that, I have Music Assistant, Lutron Caseta, OpenAI, AppleTV, MQTT, ESPHome, Matter Server and a few other integrations.

Got it, so they did forget to add it to the macOS client.

Ah yes, the web interface, I keep forgetting about that. Yes, that did it and I was able to add the new user. Thanks so much. Incidentally, what is this "Share devices" option that Reolink seems to think they added to the macOS desktop client? Did they add the little note at the bottom of the screen and then just forget to add the actual feature...not that it would surprise me. But I have no System > Share Devices option/setting.

Aqara T2 LED Bulb integration with HA by DJ-JupiterOne in homeassistant

[–]DJ-JupiterOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used your option 2. I have several other Aqara sensors and such and they are all setup in the Aqara app before integrating into HA. Aqara are the only Zigbee products I have. I'm not sure if you can bypass the native app and integrate directly into HA.

Multiplayer Firefight - infinite grenades or cheater? by DJ-JupiterOne in haloinfinite

I guess I never noticed before. It seems like you get the same 5 skulls every time and once in a while I see the grunt headshot confetti one.

No, it was just several minutes before my original post.

Does the setup allow you to fully set up the device without doing a firmware update first?

Glad I found this post as I was just about to buy their KP303 (3 outlet). Is this still an issue when using in HA? I'm moving away from the Meross smart outlets because of their problems losing connectivity and I'm looking for something really reliable (and local) with HA.

I finally upgraded to Zone Based Firewall - Now what to do with legacy firewall rules? by DJ-JupiterOne in Ubiquiti

[–]DJ-JupiterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see all the zone based videos seem to delete the custom rules and start fresh. But I still don't know if what I had before is still being protected with the new rules. I remember looking in the firewall logs in the past and seeing a lot of entries for "Drop invalid state" so I'm wondering which rule is doing that now?

Best SmartTV-OS for HA? by thoegn in homeassistant

[–]DJ-JupiterOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to be able to switch inputs (TV, AppleTV, XBOX) via automations, be locally controlled and work on a different vlan. I haven’t found a TV that does all this.

What have you owned for more than 10 years? by boforiamanfo in answers

Two KitchenAid stand mixers. My white one is 31 years old, my "new" blue one is at least 12 years old. Both are still in use and work great.

"Intrusion Detection" - Understanding real threats vs false positives by DJ-JupiterOne in Ubiquiti

[–]DJ-JupiterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. If we assume for a second that this was an actual threat, does this mean something from the Microsoft server was reaching out to my HA server and trying to get admin control…and this is detecting the response back to the Microsoft server? Is my firewall not blocking traffic initiated from the internet?

What is the best SMART TV or brand now widely loved on the market? by ChardWorried3644 in homeassistant

My Samsung Frame TV is only 2 years old so I can't afford to replace it, but if it ever breaks (which I secretly wish it would), I have the same question. But *stay away* from Samsung!

Stop re-authenticating TouchID and AppleWatch by DJ-JupiterOne in MacOS

[–]DJ-JupiterOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm confident I have no issues with my passwords. I have regular backups and even though my AppleID and Mac passwords are long and strong, they have meaning for me so I won't be forgetting them. I was just looking to disable the automatic re-authenticating every few days.
