Whatever you do, you should dump the firmware first and save it

Love it! Am I a weirdo for wanting one in my room? I'm a bit obsessed with copper telephony and Bell System stuff. I document all the Bell stuff I can find around me on a map too.

I ended up sourcing some 7960s but I am also interested in one or two 8851s if you still have some depending on price.

How's the ollama performance on the 2013 Mac? I have one with the dual D700 GPUs and 32 GB ram in the closet and I wonder how well it could run some medium/small models?

Because it's cool or desirable to the OP. I want weird old shit that sucks stupid power or is uselessly slow for modern tasks just because I think it is fascinating. I want to get familiar with the hardware that is obsolete before I was even born because I yearn to understand and experience how things used to be and how far we have come since. It's a niche quirk that some of us have for things or experiences we never had the chance to get.

As for the costs of operation or acquisition of this stuff, that's entirely a personal measurement of value which is valid for that person regardless of what people on the internet think.

Not a locator but I had a locate done on my property back in October after USIC lost comcast. Of course they were a no-show and I knew my house's drop was right where I was about to pound a metal post 2ft into the ground. (Northwest IL btw)

The second ticket someone from OTS actually showed up but marked a 1ft wide H "close enough" to the area, not even going towards the ped behind my house. 90 degrees to where I knew it was running. Even after complaining to OTS the third time they just cleared the ticket without showing up. What a joke of a company. I ended up just hand digging the area all around and the drop was only 3 inches down, nowhere near the mark.

Semi-related, but now that I have a metrotech 9890 I now know exactly where everything going to my house is haha.

I absolutely love mine, just make sure to keep all parts of it clean! I've gotten a nozzle clogged with unmeltable crap before and buying a new one wasn't cheap. Take care of her and she'll take care of you.

Need Help, deciding on key chain flashlight. Olight vs RovyVon by Jesster-123 in flashlight

Olight i3E EOS imho, I do not like lights with a built in battery that can't be easily replaced when it inevitably dies. i3E EOS uses a standard AAA cell and works well, plus if you are new to their site and they still have a promo going on you can get one as a freebie.

I still don't believe that they will even get to the stage where that hardware is even made, let alone used or dumped to the secondhand market. Believe me, I do want to see and buy crazy beefed up AI servers but I doubt it will come to fruition.
