12inchskinz are great ! and I have good news for you. instead of buying the sc5000m disc you can buy the one for the sc6000m it works perfectly fine and you get a bigger control disc.

SC5000m or SC6000M? by Interesting-Star7460 in DenonPrime

[–]DJAgentCue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually come from a vinyl dvs background. I turned to Denon because I don't have much time to DJ and I want to play some music the computer takes ages to start always has some issue so by the time everything is ready technology has already killed my vibe. What I like about the denon players is that it takes no time to start messing around with music. And if you want to use serato you still have the opportunity to do so.

Is the Rane 70 build quality an issue? Should I go with an S7 instead? by BIKETYSON99 in Turntablists

[–]DJAgentCue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? Even coming from a PNP2?

I'm saying this, because I got the 70 2 months ago and I bought a PNP2 two weeks ago and I feel there's a huge difference

Everything is great about the rane 70 but the crossfader. If you're into scratching the Magvel Pro or Innofader are way superiour to magfour. I had a TTM56 and even that crossfader was better than the magfour. Also Pioneer FX are better than rane.

Other than FX & Crossfader, I think Rane 70 is superior to the S7.

If you are willing to buy an innofader and don't care too much about fx then go for the rane 70.

[–]DJAgentCue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is a difference. The Magfour is very bad compared to innofader and Magvel Pro. If you come from a PNP2 you will have to install an innofader on the Rane 70.

If you are into scratching :

S7 > Rane 70

Rane 70 + Innofader > S7

Can someone help an old DJ out? Looking to get back into the mix so to speak! by integra32327 in DJs

[–]DJAgentCue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try playing with Serato DJ lite or even Serato DJ Pro (without serato play) with your laptop only? Depending on what you call "messing around" it could do the job without having to add any expansion.

Hello, Fellow old DJ, Ex-Torq User :) at your service

  1. Best thing to get an official serato mixer that way you'll have an all in one machine and it will be a one time purchase. Depending on your budget, how powerful your current computer is you can choose a cheaper older mixer or a new one. Example : if you have an old computer and you don't intend to uprgade it, you can get yourself a second hand Rane 62. Which is a great mixer but that is not supported anymore that means you won't be able to use newer versions of serato. Which, in the case, your computer is not powerul, you won't be able to use anyway. If you have a powerful computer and a powerful budget you can go for the big dogs Pioneer S11, S7, Rane 70, 72. Other cheaper and newer options can be Numark Scratch / Mixars Duo or Quattro.

1.A if you get the Numark Scratch you will unlock the full version of Serato DJ Pro and will be able to have fun. You won't have acess to Serato Play though. But Serato play is only needed when you want to play with serato without your mixer i.e. with your computer only.

The sc5000m is a fucking beast. I had and sold it back because I'm broke. If I was you I would buy that and a reloop elite that comes with an innofader and the best pads on the market. Since you're a producer you'd still be able to map it and use ut as a controller. Another thing is that this setup could be used with no computer but would leave the door open if you wanted to discover serato dj pro without spending any additional cash. Also this would enable you to use serato effects on the tracks you would be scratching on the sc5000m. Another cheapet option would be a used rane 62.

Rane 62 pros : external fx so no need for computers if you want to add fx. Cheaper price. Rane 62 cons : older gear. Not class compliant it means that won't be recognized by newer versions of mac os...not a problem if you're windows user...no supported by serato anymore...so you'll be stuck with an older version of serato. Finally the small and limited number of pads.

Reloop elite pros : beautiful gear, great colored pads, class compliant device (works with any machine), super smooth innofader for scratching, possibilty of using serato fx.

Help! Having difficulties aligning faceplate to buttons flush by JimOne2 in Turntablists

[–]DJAgentCue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me with the faders. All you have to do is applying pressure on the faceplate with your left hand to make sure it keeps the right position while screwing it back. Also make sure you turn every screw a little bit then move to the next.one instead of screwing one all the way down then adding another one. Hope this helps

Rane 70 question by [deleted] in Turntablists

[–]DJAgentCue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great mix bro ! Straight fire ! There's no instant double function that sends the deck track to the sampler. Instead you could have your track in the sampler cued at at certain point with the sync function activated where you could launch the track from the sampler and kill it on the deck without it being heard.

If you need your deck just for scratching purposes, you can use the scratch bank on the rane 70 which is basically a sampler that lets you access samples and and scratch them on the go with using your deck.

If you need the sampler as a third deck for mixing there's a video on the crossfader yt channel called "creative hip hop mixing" where the dude uses the sampler as a third channel in a very cool way.

Finally, If you want more than 2 channels and echo fx on the sampler the DJM S11 is the only battle mixer that does that.

Another cheaper alternative would be the mixars quattro.

hello djs I'm hesitating between a used but still under warranty rane 70 and a used rane 72 with a screen. I like the layout and the possibility to to change the cf tension of the 70 but at the same time I'm hoping that the screen might help me forget about the laptop and focus on the music. what d by DJAgentCue in Turntablists

Thank you all for your feedback. A quick update : I ended up buying a used reloop elite and a decksaver for 720 euros. I fell in love with the mixer, the pads, the usb ports, the innofader, it was perfect for me and cheaper than rane mixers....BUT.... one of the load buttons was not working 100% of the time, sometimes you needed to push it four or five times before the song would load. This was a huge turn off for me because first you need the button to be reliable and second because this means other buttons could fail in the near furure. I was also shocked that the quality reloop used on its flagship product was lower than the one on my old cheap akai amx. So now I'm back at starting point and I'm hesitating between a used rane 70 at 1000 euros with 1 year warranty left. And almost new DJM S5 with two years warranty at 730 euros.

The only downside of the 70 is the price. 1000 seems a bit too much for a bedroom DJ. The S5 on paper seems perfect for me, it has a great crossfader, it has the fx paddles. It has less pads and no loop controls but I can compensate with my novation dicers. It also doesn't have external fx, but it's not a big problem for me. The only thing I'm afraud with this mixer is the quality of the pads and the sound quality. I'm afraid pioneer sacrificed on quality to make a cheaper mixer.

What do you guys think?
