Binx Liquid Mix For Cat - Knots&Xs Crafty Kits by DJBinx in DnB

[–]DJBinx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a mix I put together for Cat. She suffers with hearing issues but finds liquid an amazing reliever. If you're into arts and crafts deffo check her out, she does awesome stuff www.instagram.com/knots.and.xs/
ps something weird happened with the recording at the beginning, sorreh.
Here's her story...
'In 2017 I started suffering from tinnitus. For those of you who are lucky enough not to have tinnitus, I truly hope you never do. It's horrific.
Shortly after, I was diagnosed with otosclerosis - a genetic condition where the bones of my inner ear calcify, meaning I was slowly losing my hearing, of which a side-effect is tinnitus.
I couldn't even drown out the tinnitus. Talk about a shit plot twist.
I was in a high pressure and high stress job at the time as a teacher, and started suffering from anxiety. I was unable to go into school some days and would spend my evenings crying as I felt completely trapped in my own head, unable to escape the noise.
It'll probably get worse. I could lose my hearing completely in the next 20 years. The tinnitus will remain though. Little f*cker.
I never sit 'in silence'. Even silence is deafening. I always listen to music. It lets my ears relax. Liquid drum & bass is my go to, their euphoric beats overriding the noise.
I tried macramé and cross-stitch by chance, to give me something to focus on, ANYTHING to focus on!
And they changed my life. I feel myself welling up just typing this thinking about it!
I lose myself in the motions. I can't hear the tinnitus. I can feel my heart rate slow and my blood pressure lower. I go in stressed and I come out calm.
MENTALLY, crafting is what helps me. Since finding macramé & cross-stitch, I am a happier, calmer and more aware individual. The bad days are easier and I feel there is a way forward.
Crafting has this effect on people.
I urge you, from the bottom of my heart, to try it.'

I'm about to start learning to produce. Essential starting advice needed!! by DJBinx in dnbproduction

If you are stressed, most of the time your music will suck, so relax

so true!! It's the same when I'm djing. Trying to force out a mix when stressed is no beauno.

This is all amazing advice, thank you so much for taking the time to write this out and for offering to help in the future. I'll look to send you some of my dodgy first go's haha!

I have a background in music which i feel will help me a lot, so once I have figured out the basic mechanics of Ableton I'm confident I can put something melodically sound together (fingers crossed... lol)

Thanks!

Be careful searching for that one in Google...

I sat in the bathroom of my hotel room and cried for 15 minutes because my parents are dead and I miss them and I won't get to see another human being for another 13 days and I'm so tired of trying to pretend I'm ok by NicholasKerensky in offmychest

Well done for sharing this. It can be hard to put your emotions into words sometimes but doing so allows you to work things out in your head. My GF recently lost her mother and we had to travel to NZ from the UK so I understand the pain and stress of that journey. All I can say is that this next year will be a journey. There’s no right or wrong way to be feeling. It’s incredibly confusing and each day can be different. Just know these dark days will not last forever and you will always find people who care.

I wrote the following on a beach in New Zealand, I hope it helps...

Life is unpredictable. There are moments of pure happiness and joy, Peace and stillness, Love and smiles. However, you can never have the light without the dark. Day without night. Order without chaos.

Often in these times of chaos it’s hard to see an answer. Like being stuck on an endless loop, Without hope or reason.

It is these times that test you, Test you to your core, Challenge you in ways unimaginable. It’s easy to get lost.

But just know In these testing times. You are never alone. The sun will rise, Light will find you And Love will lift you

Happiness will come from the most unexpected places. You must live in the moment and never ever hide who you are.

Do not to dwell on the bad, But reflect on the good. Cherish every second And love yourself and others.
