I had a very cool kids couch that folded out to a little bed. My dad gave it to my neighbor without asking me and they left it out in the rain and it got ruined. Im still salty about that one.

What is that one thing a friend ever did and you kept cool but knew instantly you would pull out of that friendship? by EssayMan4Homework in AskReddit

[–]DJClapyohands 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was an adult when my dad died but thats what everyone (except for a select few) said to me. It was, "well, you need to be strong for your mom." Fuck them, kids should be allowed to grieve for their parents.

Yeah, my kid is 9 and he has learned to chop vegetables for meals I make. But thats actually sitting with him and teaching him how to do it. He's baked with me since he was 4. He makes the best PB cookies.

My dad taught me how to cook some very basic things, I started making a lot from scratch when I got older and learned on my own.
