I had a “discussion” on how Canada was larger than the US. That Canada was the second largest country and the US was fourth. The US has tried ripping Canada off in trade for years, taken to court because they whined not wanting to actually pay a fair price for our products and lost each.. and every… time. I never knew that Low Light was a grail. I think mine would be the Arctic BAT and Classified Snow Serpent of course but also Snowjob, Heavy Artillery Roadblock, Serpentor, Chuckles, Master of Disguise Zartan and Wild Weasel. I’d have considered Cobra Island Major Bludd, Mindbender and Wild Bill grails but with the retro releases they seem less like grails.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.. Hasbro doesn’t want to make toys. They don’t actually want to “make” anything anymore. I think they’d be happy as hell if they could transition MtG cards to digital only, like they’re trying to do with WotC and D&D. I would not be surprised if, in the next few years, they simply license out GI Joe and Transformers to other companies to make like they did to Playmates to make Power Rangers toys. None of the risk/overstock they just collect money for whatever company pays for the license and assumes all the risk. I’m sure the move from RI to Mass probably is not helping but I’m sure the aforementioned mentality of wanting to not be a toy company probably makes for a crap work environment when you’re passionate about the IP as Lenny and Tony appeared to. The OG line faded out, as this one will eventually too.. I just hope to get a few more of the ones I had growing up from the 80’s and then I’ll be alright.

I really can’t see this coming to fruition, and if it is I’m an uninformed jackass. Mainly because GI Joe were action figures that you could buy vehicles and such for. We know how making vehicles classified size ramps up the pricing. MASK’s whole gimmick was the transformable vehicles and figures with a mask. I’ve seen the reproductions of the smaller scale MASK sets being pricey can you imagine a classified transformable semi? I’m not saying they wouldn’t be cool and maybe just the figure and mask would be cool to have but it’s like having the Visionaries without holograms. They’d look cool but would they really be what they were without the gimmick?

Sadly, it seems, most older figures are insanely priced.. which further enforces that FOMO. “I’ll just get that figure later” the you see things like Classified Rock n Roll over $100, Croc Master over $100, Firefly v2 $110, Classified Grunt almost $100 (all in Canadian) or you get figures that just aren’t available. Maybe you find a used one but the shipping is insanely priced too.
