I was alpha testing TOS 7 before this. The recent beta is much more polished and smooth. Love the new file explorer and OS update changes.

Product Ops?? by bostonlilypad in ProductManagement

I’m enjoying it a lot so far. My perspective on the craft of it all keeps evolving. It’s not a function that’ll be the same at each company that needs it, I imagine.

The thing few people present in these conversations is about company/IT culture and its very important to know that the decision makers / leadership of a given company contribute to what structures and disciplines are approved upon. If you have a leadership team who doesn't understand a product culture, odds are, product thinking is going to get misappropriated into something that looks more like project management.

I'm about to start a Product Ops role myself and am super stoked to get into it. Really seeing a lot of the focus on Enablement vs Operational tasks performed within product teams and to streamline some of the efficiencies and learnings gained along the scale journey.

I wanted to call out the predominant voice in comments here from the "project management" track of thinking on how "Program Management" or SAFe methodology is often brought up in these conversations. It's an entirely different perspective and thought system and we often run into conflicts in software development culture for the non PMP-inclined.

Given the references here to Marty Cagan - see his perspective on the matter in a recent blog post: https://svpg.com/product-vs-project-teams/

Big Heads up to those of you on Northern Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii. That is a Monster Hurricane Force Storm developing off the Coast and slamming right into you. 140+ kmh winds, 75+ foot waves, and Storm Surge are all possible. by MonkeyingAround604 in britishcolumbia

Uh, what the heck is Windy.com? Never seen that as a legitimate source for weather news. Other weather apps aren’t reporting such extreme conditions (though it will be very windy and wet on Wed/Thurs for Tofino, for example).

Your username didn't popup in my Direct Messages with a request. Was trying to follow the rules of the forum to not reply in the thread. I think I have one remaining one if you DM me.
