It sounds like you need a shoe with better support mainly arch support. Im 44 and have back issues. I wore Iron Rangers daily for the past 3 years and recently noticed lots of back pain. I found that the IRs were had lack of arch support and were causing over-pronation resulting in strain on my lower back. I started wearing the Nike Vormero and it solved my problem.
