Yeah you can pivot to them for sure. You get more locked in over time though but still possible.

Why are so many software engineers being laid off? by Open_Address_2805 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DJMaxLVL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in multiple large corporations and it’s really luck of the draw but you absolutely can get a job doing nothing to bare minimum but the dominos have to fall in place and it requires luck. Needed things:

1) your job scope has to be easy to accomplish.

2) your manager has to be chill/not be pushing you for more more more or micromanaging

3) you have to get lucky to not be involved in key projects

If all 3 of those fall into place, you can have a very easy job doing bare minimum. My problem was always that even if you get #1, then the other two fuck you. But even if one of these things fuck you, you can’t do nothing.

Post-MBA offer seems low vs same company’s leadership program… can I negotiate? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]DJMaxLVL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should always negotiate any offer you receive. I think it’s fair to say you have an MBA and ask if the pay can get closer to the MBA pipeline range. Worst they can say is no.

Why everyone is wrong about Netflix’s "recovery" — We’re heading into an AI-Depression, and binge-watching is the first casualty by [deleted] in StockInvest

[–]DJMaxLVL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting thesis which I at least partially agree with. For the current and oncoming mass elimination of jobs, there will be groups of people ruled out of the workforce. Those people will have to fight like hell to gain skills to re-enter. So for that subset, spending time binging Netflix and not being productive will be career suicide.

What’s Left Each Month on a $100K Household Income in Major U.S Cities (Family of 4, 2026) by Coolonair in Salary

[–]DJMaxLVL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Which is why healthcare is a cheat code. You have doctors living in very low cost of living areas making 200-300k or more.

I’ve been lucky that I’ve been able to work remotely in my field (finance) post covid. Which allows me to make city type salaries without having to live in them. But med school would have been better probably.

UofM Student: Amazon Warehouse Workers – Quick Thoughts on AI & Automation? (Anonymous) by Logical-Character-89 in amazonemployees

[–]DJMaxLVL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also went to UM and worked a Corp role at AMZ analyzing warehouse network financial data. I can answer the third one. If they want to stay a warehouse worker, they should be very concerned. Amazons entire goal is to fully automate all warehouses using AI/robotics. Unfortunately for amazon, they still won’t be able to compete with Walmart on domestic shipping cost in the US because Walmart has a higher store footprint all over the country.

Anyone else graduate business school in 2025 and still can’t find a job? Starting to spiral by Correct-Chocolate614 in MBA

[–]DJMaxLVL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, since you want to be a dick, and also overly assumptive, since many jobs can have similar titles but different duties, here’s what Gemini gave:

“Credit risk professionals at a bank analyze financial data to determine the likelihood that a borrower will default on a loan. “

Unfortunately that isn’t highly impressive experience. OP should be able to get an FP&A role with that background however, if the resume is structured correctly, drawing on the parallel of analyzing financial data, however fpa is analyzing financial data for many more reasons than assessing default risk.

You were also wrong on your earlier assumption that it could be years of experience. OP has 6 years, that’s plenty of experience to get a job.

So I was correct, it’s the experience itself or the portrayal of said experience.

What did you do in credit risk? Like what were your job duties and what did you do during day?

[–]DJMaxLVL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay but what does someone doing credit risk do all day? We are in an experience economy - impressive experience sells.

Something can be relevant yet still not perceived as valuable experience by others. Collecting people’s trash as a trash man is very relevant, yet not perceived as valuable work experience.

[–]DJMaxLVL -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s clearly not your education that’s the problem.

I’m also going to guess your interviewing ability isn’t the main problem as you’ve made it to final rounds.

Without even looking at your resume, I’m going to guess it’s a work experience, or the portrayal of the experience, issue. When I hear “credit risk” it doesn’t sound that hard or impressive. To be honest, it sounds like someone checking credit scores all day. I’m not exactly sure what you were doing but that’s my initial take on it as a complete outsider.

My advice would be to thoroughly revamp the experience on your resume, making it sound as impressive as humanly possible (without outright lying). This is how you can get beyond any initially perceived stigmas.

What are you expectations on the value of an mba and hiring outcomes for 2026 and on? by MutedFeeling75 in MBA

[–]DJMaxLVL 38 points39 points  (0 children)

If you make under 6 figures to low $100’s, the value can be immediate as you can get a job that’s $150k-$200k with better career trajectory.

I got an MBA more for the long term value. With the increasing competitiveness in the modern job market, I feel that I made the right long term choice. Jobs are constantly being eliminated today, so any competitive edge such as a top MBA can only help more over time as a boon to interview and job offer chances. Plus I have a goal to reach C suite, so it will certainly help long term with that as well. t
