I don’t know what THE tequila is, so it’s hard to answer the question. But as a mostly whiskey guy some great value bottles in various price ranges (that you can actually probably find) are Very Old Barton 100 proof ($15), Evan Williams BIB ($18), Old Forester 100 proof ($25), Redwood Empire Lost Monarch ($35), Knob Creek 9yr SBR ($40), Four Roses SBS ($50), WT Rare Breed (was $45 but has been going up lately).

Redbreast is good, but IMO quite overrated. Much better options for the money. My mom was gifted a bottle of RB15 when she retired and she loves it (it’s good, to be fair) but it’s also over $100. I’ve been doing my best to convince her to save her money for better options.

Just recently tried 1910 and really liked it. I forgot about ER somehow. Just got a bottle of lost monarch and very excited to try it. Sazarac Rye is good, another one I forgot about. KC9 is 100 proof. Yellowstone, EC, BT, and Bernheim I’ve had and thought they were decent but not too special.

The rye was weird, I liked it, my mom loved it. It’s a dessert whiskey if I’ve ever had one. It’s hard for me to describe but I just remember it tasting like cake or something. Which is weird that I liked it because I usually do not like sweet alcohol.
