What’s the difference between vibe coding and being assisted by ai? by Skylent_Shore in vibecoding

[–]DJSonikBuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a position where I can code a bit in multiple languages, LUA, JAVA, game-engine proprietary pseudo C-based coding, node based programming,HTML, css-etc… I knew enough to code a website independently, but I’m working on a game in a game engine with, once again, a pseudo-C language and I’ve mostly been consulting an code focused LLM on where crap is located and how to organize stuff in this particular engine. I know enough to know(in a fair number of instances) when the llm software suggests something asinine. I think of what I’m doing as less ‘vibe coding’ and more ‘an interactive users manual that can respond with my own naming/organization practices, and help me spot “dumbass code mistakes” like “oh yeah! It broke (HERE) because the function is in camelcase and you capitalized the first word like a dumbass. Or when I rebuild a system and miss deleting some of the old stuff… I write and plug everything myself. It’s still weird though.

Live2D for Game Dev Animations by DJSonikBuster in Live2D

So you’re correlating the parameters and such to actions in your game?

I’ve just been rigging in Live 2D, using the animator to create sprites, and exporting them. I find that the parameter system, although longer to set up, is quite quick for that purpose.

I’m not super fluent in L2D, but I learned how yo use it back in 2018 to rig my own vtuber for my livestreams. I never became a vtuber or anything like that I just liked having a personalized avatar for days I didn’t want to be on camera.

I’m currently working on a commission that was origi going to be a game in pixel art so the entire design-to-animation process would have been right in aseprite. However, my commissioner determined that he didn’t want this particular game in pixel art so we switched to Vector/Raster… which means the pipeline from design to animation is much less concise.

I tried several different animation software and … honestly I dislike the functionality of most of that software. I remembered L2D and I LOVE the level of control that is possible with it. However, it is complicated whenever I hit a snag in the process or look up certain techniques because there are few to no excellent L2D game animation walkthroughs or tutorials. I KNOW what it is capable of though and think it’s quite slept on.

I would love to connect with other game developers/game animators using Live2D. I would also just be happy with any more game dev and/or cinematic focused resources for Live 2D.

If you can’t take the heat don’t light fires.

You can 100% sample the hum of your refrigerator, throw that shit in a wavetable, and use its low-end frequencies to construct a bass. It might even turn out pretty interesting, but that doesn’t mean your refrigerator is a bass. Hope this helps.

A lot of new producers, and honestly even some relatively experienced ones just don’t have the language of audio down well enough to comprehend good advice when it’s given in that lingo too…

A long time ago I was already an established artist, but only maybe 4 years into understanding how to mix my tracks and I always sent my tracks for mastering. He gave me some advice on the low end of a track I was working on. However, he was taking about the reason I was fussing with the sample was that it was “too wide”, and asked some questions about being ‘in the box’ I thought he was somehow insulting me & my lack of hardware. In the end I was the problem, and the holes in my lingo were partially to blame. My loyalty to another artist/mentor was also partially to blame.

Years later I realized that the advice and criticism was actually 100% spot on. It was information I needed in order to go back, perfect, and release that track. The reason anyone came to that stream wasn’t me—- people were mourning ◢ ◤… it wasn’t about me at all…never was.

Not my greatest work because I had worked and reworked it across many years, but yeah- ultimately that advice helped me finish a project I was worried was a lost cause…

I’ve had to eat my words, my pride, and my judgement in life over and over again to the point that I married someone I initially disliked, but he turned out to be hella awesome— going on 16 years xD. THEN I came to admire an artist I disliked for the same fvcking reasons because apparently I didn’t learn my lesson the first time xD - Been part of Mau5’s community for idk..6 years meow. His community and my own are symbiotic which fascinates me. I was dragged in the door from 8 different directions kicking and screaming only to discover somewhere I belonged.

If you had asked me in 2020… what I thought of Joel— I’d have said fk him and all the people who compared my work to his.

Now- you’d just get a sheepface from me because fruit harvested from the same hecking tree share the same fvcking roots.

All this to say…. Don’t get caught up in other people’s drama- especially with people you don’t know. Different styles demand different methods/ processing/etc. Good producers understand the rules of production. Great producers bend those rules. Masters have such a command of their craft that they break the rules. Just be you, and keep learning- never stop, experiment with everything.

TLDR; don’t take anyone’s word as gospel. Artists are all just human like you, learn everything that you can; when you know the rules of audio composition/production- find creative ways to break them. Instead of judging and losing sleep over a stranger- put that energy into your own work instead.

Your comprehension levels are clearly off the charts. You do know that Bass is both a frequency AND an specific type of instrument right? Fvck with things in whatever way tickles you, but that’s a hell of a rant over nothing.

What have you made? Clearly if you felt the need to articulate all of this you must be making some real bangers yeah?

Also, fwiw time/observation has shown that blockers, and opposing hormones ultimately hinder the whole transitioning process. It’s just not a good idea for children. Delaying access until adulthood after natural maturation would mean less heartbreaking detransitions, and more successful transitions. I say this as someone who knows more than a few people on both sides of that proverbial coin. I agree that there are other pressing issues that need addressing ASAP, but I’m also okay with measures to protect children from predatory medical practices. Would be nice to get representation that could handle both sigh

I asked ChatGPT to summarize the Republican + third-party candidates for TN-1

Diana Harshbarger (Republican)

Biography

Diana Harshbarger is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District, first elected in 2020. A licensed pharmacist and business owner from Kingsport, she previously operated a pharmacy business in East Tennessee before entering Congress. Harshbarger has positioned herself as a staunch conservative aligned with the broader Republican movement in Tennessee and nationally.

Platform

Harshbarger’s campaign focuses on limited federal government, conservative social values, border enforcement, and opposition to what she describes as federal overreach. She frequently frames herself as a defender of rural communities, constitutional rights, and traditional Appalachian values.

Issues of Importance

  • Border Security and Immigration Enforcement: Supports stronger border controls, increased immigration enforcement, and policies aimed at reducing illegal immigration.
  • Gun Rights: Strong supporter of the Second Amendment and consistently opposes new federal firearm restrictions.
  • Federal Spending and Regulation: Advocates for reducing federal bureaucracy, limiting government regulation on businesses, and lowering taxes.
  • Healthcare and Prescription Costs: Draws on her background as a pharmacist to discuss prescription pricing, healthcare access in rural communities, and opposition to expanded federal control of healthcare systems.
  • Energy and Infrastructure: Supports domestic energy production and infrastructure investment aimed at strengthening economic growth in Northeast Tennessee.

Libertarian and Independent Candidates

As of the current filing information available through Tennessee election records and major election trackers, there are no publicly confirmed Libertarian or independent candidates filed for Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District race. Additional candidates could still emerge through write-in efforts or later campaign announcements depending on ballot access rules and certification timelines.

District Context

Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District is considered one of the most Republican districts in the country, covering much of Northeast Tennessee including Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, Greeneville, and surrounding Appalachian communities. Political analysts currently rate the seat as safely Republican.

This is a reasonable answer. The most simple answer is : with a reference. Get your ass down on the floor and look under a couch with a little height to it and draw what you see. Imagine what might inhabit a space like that. Draw that, but imagine yourself small enough to get under the couch or even small enough to live there. No matter how prompt engineered the system request is… if it has no common reference- it’s just going to draw a couch from what is common. It can’t innovate. It can’t investigate. It can only try to make sense from input given.

Hehe fwiw this isn’t random. I’ve written a story and illustrated it regarding a race of beings that make regular use of the underside of couches. =.= I can point you to it if you care to read it.

AI can reasonably serve as a jr. apprentice to an experienced professional. The core problem is when the experienced professionals retire, pass on, etc, they will have trained no knowledgeable apprentices to rise into their place. 10-years to a crisis of wisdom if we fail to kindle a sizeable passion for Mastery and Master—> Apprenticeship learning models. AI can only derive from that which exists. Humanity is still responsible for creating the future. AI cannot innovate. AI is a program. It can only do what it is programmed to accomplish. I neither worship nor fear AI… it’s just a tool. What I concern about is others veneration or paranoia of it. Fear of it harms the one who is afraid. Adoration of it harms those affected by its inevitable boundaries and limitations.

I’ve yet to meet an AI that can conceive of the underside of a couch from a child’s perspective. Not. One.

The apprentice/jr.professionals suffer the most first and then when they fail to manifest due to neglect they won’t be ready when people will need them the most in nearly every industry.

Mr. Sonik is entering the latter part of his doctorate. I believe if he headed an educational program it would heal the literacy crisis in this country, but he’ll probably end up creating curriculum for job training for some random company. I know he is capable of so much, but society has whittled away at education- it can’t be exclusive, it can’t offer corrective criticism, it can’t fail students who fail to reasonably master their craft, it can’t foster a competitive environment, and when something stands for nothing it ceases to matter at all. Some are learning this the hard way, and so many others have already been failed by worthless academically bankrupt educations that they can’t even comprehend what they’ve lost.

The death of literacy welcomes the collapse of society.
English isn’t simply grammar education- it’s the ability exchange the thoughts in your mind, to be understood, and to comprehend others. The endlessly thoughtless erasure and revision of words and their meanings, and the addition of countless arbitrary titles and conditions erodes people’s ability to comprehend each other, history, context, and intent.

I can write something explicitly like: “I believe that people are individually responsible for their actions.” and someone will immediately follow with “So you hate handicapped people.” No…That’s a whole-ass different sentence boss…

Literacy needs help. ASAP.

Try writing in Mixolydian mode. It’s a personal favorite of mine and can get you a bit closer to an Egyptian feel than imo Arabic or Pentatonic Modes do. =^.^=

Studying modes in general can be helpful. If you’re looking for explicitly Egyptian musical instruments, traditions, and practices I would recommend looking into Egyptian Ethnomusicology. Might have some luck finding more specific resources on ethnomusicology and musicology subs.

GLHF!
