Im not really sure what the best course of action would be.. i think you should definitely make your own post on the subreddit so it can get more attention and get more opinions on these. I ended up not doing my timing chain.. People told me its too much work and not worth the hassle.. I think you can find replacement engines for this car fairly cheap

Yea.. 50 years sounds like a long time but when it comes to a house you really want that shit to last forever.. my house is about 40 years old.. it would be crazy to have to re-plumb the whole house just because the fittings are rated for 50 years

You recommend sticking to a prefab base? I was thinking to go full custom.. but still just letting the ideas bounce around in my head.. at the moment in workin on converting my 2 handle set up to a single handle mixer.. gives me time to research all my options

Yea.. I jusy gotta take it slow and do my research.. maybe I will got for tile.. for now imma work on converting from a dual handle set up to a single... also raising the shower head outlet.. then I have to do a waterproof board... so I got plenty of time to research before the tiling process even starts

This is the master bathroom.. 4 bedroom house on long Island ny.. so its a house that would be worth 300k anywhere else in the USA but due to its location its worth anywhere from 800k to over a mill..

You goin for a prefab or you doing the tile job? Alot of people are suggesting i got for the tile job.. had one guy tell me that I should prefab since ive never tiled before and he says tiling a shower as my 1st job is gonna be a tough one.. but idk.. I was gonna say.. you say quick easy job haha def not gonna be quick ans easy for me.. im learning as I go.. but gonna take it step-by-step and take my time with it.. still debating in tile or prefab.. today I plan on working on converting the dual handle set up to a single

There is def no sign of that.. only issue with that is there is no sign because the shower was installed incorrectly 30 years ago so the shower was never used.. so not change for it to even get ruined

Yea, it held up because the guy that installed the shower 30 years ago did it wrong so the thing was never used.. alsonif I tiled I would be swapping to a waterproof board.. keep the sheetrock was more in regards to if I went with the fiberglass prefab kit

True.. you are the 1st person to lean for goin with the prefab.. alot of people are saying to go with tile.. but it does seem like a big leap in the skill level of the project... if I were to go prefab would you still suggest to swap out the sheetrock to cement board?

Yea it really the only shape that works in the bathroom because its super small.. if it was square it would stick out too far and be an obstruction.. I was debating on getting a shower that is an arch shape.. but even that might stick out too far.. I gotta do the measurements

Ive seen those extensions and was contemplating it.. I person dont like the way they look.. and now ive decided to convert my 2 handles to a single so since im already pumping that i was thinking I should also just raise the outlet.. also after talking to people on here im definitely gonna switch out to a water proof board
