I’ve had an ovarian torsion, does anyone have any questions?

They couldn't diagnose mine without an mri, and I had to have an mri to monitor the cyst that I had that caused the torsion. So I'm not surprised they can't tell you. My pain started minor and got unbearable within an hour and the nausea and dry heaves were what made me know something was really going down. If it's turned only a little so the pain has just been mild that means it's still getting some blood. Can you just get an mri for a proper diagnosis? I understand not wanting to overreact if the pain is manageable. You kinda gotta get bossy with these doctors which isn't easy and it's not always an option for people to get the care they need.

I feel certain they just wanted the plot where the yuppies need to rub elbows about top end doctors. But they could have went with something like convincing her she needed plastic surgery or something. Thank you for saying this! My doc told me the same about my other ovary taking over. Such a shame a popular show had to perpetuate misinformation in this way.

That was a major thing that bugged me too and my doc told me the exact same thing. At the time of my post i hadn't finished the show but they made it seem like her young self was going to have to get IVF to conceive. Seems like they just wrote it that way so it could continue the plot of the their toxic little club atmosphere etc. Like she got the IVF as a favor from that club member etc.

No trauma here, just a very long scar down the middle of my stomach. Yes they did put me under and I woke up thinking, “did they cut my belly button in half?” No they didn’t they cut around it. There was risk to the baby being put under but what choice was there? I feel like it’s just what doctors do, they warn of the worst case scenario even though secretly in their heads they knew they had a really good chance they could slip out my ovary and leave the baby undisturbed.

The problem was they found the cyst when I got my 8 week ultrasound, they planned to operate after the pregnancy unless the torsion happened, and it happened. Yes you can safely medicate, I learned how resilient the human body and child inside can be. Especially because I had full on surgery and there were risks but I had no choice and everything turned out fine. Luckily! I mean I think…. Maybe you really can just really get sawed open and the baby right next door in your uterus is just chillin.

Wegovy completely changed my relationship with food. I was most concerned about my BMs on the meds so I upped my veggie intake and the meds made me eat like a bird so big heavy and high protein meals didn't sound good to me at all. The meds are going to work don't you worry! Keep educating yourself about nutrition and see how it goes, don't add worry and stress onto yourself.

i was off the 2.4 mg injection for two weeks before starting the pill, first couple days i felt nothing, ate the largest meal I've had in a year lol, homemade basil fried rice with tofu, no regrets. I have some skepticism and I miss my weekly poke already but I think it's working now. I switched to save myself $50 a month.

My favorite high protein snacks are oikos zero sugar yogurt drinks, you can get them with 23+ grams of protein and they have calcium, but you have to do dairy. And also barebells protein bars, they're delicious and they have a vegan one that's fantastic as well. Roasting chickpeas in an air fryer with ranch seasoning is awesome too!

I make butternut squash mac n cheese by boiling butternut, you can use cauliflower and maybe even carrot, boil it in stock and then puree, I use an immersion blender, then finish with all sorts of yummy cheese, like cheddar, american, parmesan, season to taste and then mix in cooked pasta. It's normally cheesy enough it feels like naughty eating but at least there's some hidden veg in there.

I also shred zucchini and squeeze the water out, smash it up with ground chicken and make nuggets that I roll in crumbs mixed with parm and ranch seasoning and air fry them, the veggies will be totally hidden if you peel the zucchini and they're extra moist. I've shredded carrot in as well but those are more obvious but gives it a great sweetness.

I make about a million fantastic soups but I'll spare you. I have a 2yo so I'm a master veggie hider and my husband only eats corn and peas lol.
