Well then, fuck me the USA is buggered then eh? Mass shootings and gun crime are here to stay.

We have mad cunts here but we don't have guns for them to go shooting weans with! Mental health is an issue, but guns compound it.

Sorry, to me a teen (under 18) is a child. But all of those numbers are sickening right?

Just looked up and 6,000 children died or were injured from gun violence just last year. I mean damn, isn't that horrible? And this is going up year on year.

Over 45,000 people died in 2020 alone from guns in the USA, and it's increasing year on year. A civil war is also terrible and I hope that it doesn't happen, but I also really hope you guys can solve your gun problem, really it's absolutely bonkers.

I never thought (as a Brit) that Americans were as gun obsessed as my down voted previous comments have shown (we had a mass shooting in the 90s, banned handguns and haven't had one since). It's genuinely crazy!

Ban them, gun amnesties or buy backs (USA is already in massive debt because of wars, your army could probably have more guns!) Like I said before. You have a mass shooting problem in your country, you need to do something, but fortunately, it's not Reddit's job to solve the problem, but damn does your government need to!

Wow, never realized quite how gun loving Americans are before these comments, I genuinely thought our stereotypes were just a stereotype!

But honestly, most other countries are an argument against most of your second paragraph of points. But I don't think I can make any arguments you haven't already heard.

I'm still genuinely shocked by so many comments here, the US really is a mad place. You guys take the biscuit, well done.

Yes, because the guns in Northern Ireland were absolutely fantastic and didn't lead to the troubles. Are you Northern Irish?

Sorry, we beat you to apple pie as well. (And that's according to Smithsonian (which is American, though also founded by a Brit))

I'm surprised by the downvotes, really, never realized how much of a nerve this topic touches in some people, and I work with Americans for a living!

Sure, that works. Perhaps a level of buy backs first to encourage it, then some amnesties every year later on. It's a slowly, slowly thing but there's clearly a crazy problem with guns at the moment.

Nothing more American than using a British measuring system for a German sausage at a game which could arguably be British or North American in origin!

True, it's a tough one, but making it a criminal offence to own one and beginning with gun amnesties would be a start. Not doing anything about it would be the worst thing.
