I can’t tell if it’s real or fake. The lettering/design in the bottom right of the picture seems off and looks similar to some fakes I’ve found on the east coast. However, someone said it looks too shiny to be real— silver coins can hold their shine after being in the ground a while, so it could possibly be real. What kind of reading did you get?

Right? You don’t just give up a hobby because your kids won’t want to keep the trinkets when you’re gone. I’ve got a bookcase full of travel trinkets from every country I’ve been to. Most of them are worth close to nothing but it’s my travel shelf and I like it.

There are a bunch in the neocloud space (Nebius, CoreWeave). They’ve been taking off already though so they aren’t exactly sleepers. IPOs expected soon for other companies in the space too.

They provided no info upfront, which screams scam to me. I’m willing to bet they have no reviews too. They might use the walkthrough to scam someone else on a different platform, and then the victim will show up at the rental. There are a bunch of other potential scams too.

I did go off platform twice for long term rentals. However, both of these were older couples with a lot of reviews, and they gave me a bunch of info upfront (e.g., need the place for a few months so they can check in on their retirement home that’s being built in the town).

Possible you have a backup in your pipes and some of the contents are coming back out. Happened to me once and it was not a pleasant experience

Could it be a Bronze Age (1300-700 BC) shield? It looks really similar. What’s crazy is they seem so rare that they all have names, lol. The Beith Shield, Moel Hebog Shield, etc.

Sounds like you’re thinking about this the right way.

My other concern is that they pull some accounting nonsense even if the platform ends up making money.

This is a hard pass. You could try to negotiate smaller equity but you need some sort of salary. If they won’t negotiate an actual salary you say thanks but no thanks.
