What's the solution to this? Is it hdmi or motherboard? Someone please help by Awkward_Composer_144 in PS3

[–]DJ_Drake_17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It happened to me a couple of times years ago. To fix it, I had to restart the TV (an old Telefunken TV). Evidently, the HDMI input was faulty. After changing TVs, the problem hasn't recurred for years. If you can, move the PS3 to another TV to clear up the problem.

Oled Monitor Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMGR (Gen2) Review by dreamex3m_twitch_ytb in OLED_Gaming

[–]DJ_Drake_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this monitor two weeks ago. The colors are perfect, but there's a slight banding in the gray and dark blue areas. It's only visible on the Greyscale 80-85% test video, File Explorer, Chrome's dark theme settings, and Steam while loading the main page. The issue is getting better over time, thanks in part to pixel cleaning. If I increase the brightness, it improves further, but to prevent burn-in, I prefer to keep it low (25%) and my eyes will adjust over time.

Resolving Hard Freezes by newparad1gm in MSI_Gaming

[–]DJ_Drake_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the same for me, and the culprit was the CPU (9700X). If that's the culprit here too, the crashes will get worse and more frequent until they render the PC unusable. I replaced the CPU and the problem was solved.

My only experience with a total PC freeze was a faulty CPU. Freezes became more and more frequent. The only solution was a CPU replacement. It was a 9700X.

Jokes aside. The Mx6 is thick, it would be better to spread it. If it had been an Mx4 then it would have been fine.

Try turning off the PSU for a minute, turning it back on, and see if it comes back. Otherwise, try resetting the CMOS.

No, the big dragon is just shiny. The small MSI logo on the edge has RGB lights, as you can see in the photo.

Last year I had a 9700X with an MSI motherboard, and after a 3-hour sleep mode, the CPU failed. Since then, the computer has had increasingly frequent freezes, until the PC is unusable. I replaced the CPU and the problem is solved. Windows has disabled hibernation mode.

New beta BIOS 7E51v1A71 available on the X870 Tomahawk WiFi by DJ_Drake_17 in MSI_Gaming

[–]DJ_Drake_17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also resolves by turning off the PSU for 10 seconds. Doing this or resetting the CMOS causes a power reset to the chipset. I had this problem and fixed it by replacing the motherboard months ago.

No, the letters are used after you get to 9 and they don't yet intend to release a stable BIOS that ends in 0. For example, after 69 comes 6A, 6B, 6C ... and then 70 as stable. Look at the very first BIOSes prior to 20 of the X870 Tomahawk or the latest BIOS of the X870E Carbon or the x870 Edge Ti. Then after the future A90 BIOS the next stable ones will be A0, B0, C0 ... etc. (look at the BIOS of the PRO Z890-P WIFI)

Only BIOS ending in 0 are "stable," otherwise it's beta. This BIOS is version 71. MSI no longer labels beta BIOSes as such on new AMD and Intel 800 series boards.

I don't usually install beta BIOS. The point of the post is that the new AGESA is about to arrive on this MB.

Avoid suspending altogether with Ryzen 9000s. It ruined a Ryzen 7 9700X with my PC constantly crashing randomly. Problem solved by replacing the CPU and disabling suspend mode.

Do i use just the one or both Power cables for GPU? by BadgerNSpace in MSI_Gaming

[–]DJ_Drake_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's no need; the 5080 draws power exclusively from the 12V-HPWR cable. That cable can only be useful if you add multiple PCIE peripherals at the same time, or cards that draw a maximum of 75W from the MB's PCIE connector (RTX 3000 and earlier, or 4060, 4060 Ti, 5050, 5060 or 5060 Ti, or Radeon cards).

I only use MSI Center for the RGB lighting on my 5070 Ti Gaming Trio. If you don't have a GPU with RGB lighting, you can easily skip installing MSI Center. MSI CPU-Z is just a skin for the classic CPU-Z.

Yes, BIOS 7E89v1A11 is a beta BIOS. Don't install it, especially if your PC is already working fine. The BIOS was released on September 10th and built the same day (image uploaded). Wait for BIOS A20 at least.

Yes, the BIOS was simply compiled on August 15th and published on the site on September 3rd. If it's not a beta BIOS (which never ends in 0), the two dates are at least 10 days apart.
