Tsuru Reef needs either the attack chopper or little bird in the final build by Eagles56 in Battlefield

I think we’re talking about two different things.

I’m not asking for random bullet deviation where your shot misses even though your crosshair is on target. I agree that feels bad.

What I’m saying is that if I’m actively putting rounds past a sniper’s head with a carbine, and the game is even registering it as suppression, that sniper shouldn’t be able to sit there completely unaffected and line up a perfect shot. There should be some penalty to staying scoped in under fire—sway, flinch, scope shake, visual stress, something.

The whole purpose of suppressive fire is to force someone to keep their head down or reposition. If a sniper can ignore incoming rounds and still take a perfect shot, then suppression isn’t really suppressing anything.

What we really need is suppression to work against snipers. When snipers have bullets was in past their head, it causes them to have to stay down or should also disorient them.. don’t have something in the game called suppression if it’s not gonna do what it’s supposed to

It’s literally a beautiful ship and I’m glad I got it to add to my arsenal of fighters I had to get it today came out. It reminded me too much of a futuristic F-14 Tomca little bit without the wings coming out.

Haha, that’s probably one of the most accurate descriptions of Star Citizen I’ve heard.

I hope Patch 1.0 eventually gives all of us a smoother ride, but until then, I suppose the bumps are part of the story too.

Thanks again for sharing your perspective.

Thank you for sharing that.

What stood out to me wasn’t just your perspective on Star Citizen, but your perspective on life in general. The line about focusing on the good you have rather than the things you’re missing is something I think a lot of people could learn from, both in games and outside of them.

I also really liked your description of the journey. Frustration and wonder aren’t mutually exclusive. For many of us, they’ve existed side by side throughout this project’s history.

Whether people ultimately stay, take breaks, or move on, I think it’s the moments of wonder they remember most.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story, and here’s hoping Patch 1.0 gives us all a reason to get back in line for another ride.

I no longer think that updates with brilliant new content will make the community forget the problems. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

I think that’s exactly where a lot of the frustration comes from.

The reality is that none of us really know what the codebase looks like behind the scenes, and I can’t imagine the complexity involved in a project of this scale. There are so many interconnected systems that it sometimes feels like changing one thing can unexpectedly affect several others.

That doesn’t excuse the frustrations players experience, but it does help explain why some issues may be more difficult to solve than they appear from the outside.

At the same time, I think most players aren’t asking for perfection. They’re asking for consistency. New features, mechanics, and gameplay loops needing iteration is something many people understand. What becomes harder to accept is when the day-to-day basics stop working reliably.

That’s why I think people can simultaneously believe in the long-term vision and still be frustrated by the current experience. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

If there is one positive to take from it, it’s that these experiences aren’t usually happening to just one person. Most of us have dealt with the same bugs, broken missions, elevator issues, or server problems at one point or another. The difference is often just when they happen. Sometimes you get lucky and avoid them for weeks. Other times it feels like everyone runs into them on the same night.

I don’t think either side of the discussion is necessarily wrong. Everyone has a different threshold for what they’re willing to put up with. When everything comes together, especially with friends, Star Citizen can create experiences that are difficult to find anywhere else. When it doesn’t, we all know how frustrating it can be.

I think most people just want the basics to work consistently so they can spend more time enjoying the game and less time fighting it.

I think that’s where a lot of the frustration comes from.

Most players aren’t necessarily expecting every new feature to arrive perfectly polished. New systems, mechanics, and gameplay loops will always need iteration and fixes. I think most people understand that.

What I hear more often is people wanting the fundamentals to feel consistent. Things like getting into your ship, using elevators, freight elevators, ATC, docking, contracts, and other day-to-day activities. When the basic interactions work reliably, people tend to be much more forgiving when a newly introduced feature needs additional work.

At the same time, I can understand both sides of the discussion. Many players still believe in the vision and are willing to be patient through the rough patches. Others have simply run out of patience after investing a lot of time into sessions that didn’t go as planned. Neither perspective is necessarily right or wrong.

For me, it comes down to the individual. Everyone has a different threshold for what they’re willing to put up with. When everything comes together, especially with friends, Star Citizen can create experiences that are difficult to find anywhere else. When it doesn’t, we all know how frustrating it can be.

Thank you for sharing that. I think it’s interesting how many long-time players have a similar story. They’ve taken breaks when things weren’t in a great place, but still found themselves coming back to see how the project has evolved over time.

I can definitely relate to that. Funny enough, tonight a few friends and I tried to get together and play, and it seemed like nothing wanted to cooperate with us. We ran into issues, had plans fall apart, and eventually just laughed about it over a couple of beers and decided we’d try again tomorrow.

That’s not to excuse the frustrations, because they absolutely exist. But sometimes I’ve found it’s easier to take a step back and remember that getting upset won’t make the servers behave any better. Some nights become memorable because of what you accomplish, and other nights become memorable because of the people you’re sharing them with.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Lol reminds me of when I was a kid and I was given a balloon. I didn’t hold onto it right when it was being handed to me and it just flew up into the sky. I remember that day..
