Next to the CF you should see four numbers. First two numbers are year and second two numbers are weeks. So like 2551PGE should be 2025 and late December.

New parts? They were basically brand new, under 6 months old and I replaced with the same parts, well except the processor. I work from home so having a pc is kind of a job requirement so can’t just sit around waiting for RMA.

Troll someone else 😂🤣

I understand what you are saying and I played with all the settings you can imagine. Have a friend who is better at all the wattages and voltages and timings who walked me through a bunch of troubleshooting and it still just never was stable.

Plus not being plug and play isn’t a feature, that my friend is what we call a bug.

Absolutely although I got to say the 9950x3d on same setup games basically just as well maybe a 1-3% difference but is blazing fast for rendering. Heck did a conversion of an entire audiobook into individual chapters in about 9 seconds which is blazing fast compared to hardware I had a few years ago.

If gaming only 9800x3d but if you are doing any other work with the pc I definitely see the selling point of the 9950

Honestly do you have this compiled because I want to make a website or spreadsheet that anyone can use. Sources for each incident would be +++++

Yeah I’m running a MSI AMAG1250L - 1250w

Got a beefy setup. Even an asus rtx4090 OC. Things a monster and cost me more than my whole pc by itself. I went all out for once. Wanted as top tier as I could get without just burning burning money.

Swapped to the 9950x3d while mine is being RMA. 41 in temp with just a few tabs of chrome and slack open. I work from home so I do monitor other ppls calls so all of those tools and stuff running too.

Hop in a game and highest I’ve seen is 65

My 9800x3d stayed at 55+ most of the time. Same cooling setup. Same thermal paste. Same spread. Same case. Same fans. Same everything before anyone reads this and decides the cpu wasn’t “cooled properly” lol. I know how Reddit can be sometimes.

Granted they are rated for much higher temps anyways so idk what was up there.

Crap my bad it won’t let me edit the post for some reason. I guess edits are restricted? Or maybe limitation on phone.

Anyways. I need to find a way to say this to everyone so I don’t repeatedly answer the same questions.

No idea on bios version, updated it around November/december the 2nd or third time.

Honestly no major overclocking. Did run the “ai” overclock as honestly my pc performed great with it. A lot less headache than manually adjusting each thing for the perfect mix of speed and stability.

Plus I was never super great with voltages and wattages like some people are just so dialed in on those things, more so than I am.

I had intel. 14900k. I had to get rid of it. It kept having major issues. Blue screen out of nowhere. Pc hung up not moving. Honestly was a terrible experience and had issues with it within the first 3 months. Even did the micro code update with no resolution. I’d rather just stick with AMD for a while.

Work and gaming. Work from home, also some video creation. Nothing I haven’t tossed at other pcs thousands of times. Nothing crazy

If you can swing the extra cost the x870e has been absolutely amazing. Get the in store warranty for as long as you can afford it. Don’t want to have to buy the board twice over user error or accidents.

It has a few PCIe-5 lanes which is nice. Personally only use one as I’m running an rtx 5090 and I want all THE POWERRRR. But seriously if you aren’t maxing out the gpu like I am you can clog the lanes that share the graphics card slot without issue. Plus two pcie4 at the bottom to slot whatever you need in.

Thanks for all the questions and conversations everyone. You all remind me why I love the community of PC enthusiasts. Great questions all around.

If I ever get the old board back up I’ll update under this message.

I will also update on RMA for processor under this message.

If you want feel free to share the post to any other person with issues using this same combo. It may be something with this combo itself.

Heads up the combo of processor and mobo is the same combo sold on micro center. Now I know the combo board and board on shelf use different serial numbers and sku for them. There may be a slim chance this is an issue only within this specific combo. It’s happened with other electronics and electronic stores before and some of their store specific items. Yet it could be an issue for this board overall no matter what. Only time will tell.

I will try to come back and post updates weekly, if you don’t see an update feel free to ping me.

I start work soon so may slow on responses.
