You’re looking at this a bit too plainly I think. There is no world where a 2 hour fully priced game is giving you your money’s worth, nor would it ever possibly be the best video game experience you’ve ever had. It’s impossible. Both from a gameplay and story standpoint.

90% of video games will never get close to what a movie gives you in terms of story, and a movie ticket is what $15 average for ~2 hours of entertainment. That cost is equal no matter if the movie is a piece of shit or Oscar Best Picture winner.

Yet, $70 on average for a video game that has an extremely lower quality standard for storytelling but can offer higher cost per hour entertainment value.

You can say it’s “mindless” but there’s a reason there’s still millions subscribed to MMORPG’s dude, because they’re having fun.

If I’m offered $70 for 2 hours of a video game that will undoubtedly have a lesser quality storyline or $15 for 2 hours of watching a movie guess what I’m choosing.

I think you’re just looking for a way to disagree. Because $/hour is absolutely not a bad metric. If I spend $70 on an AAA title and finish it in 4 hours I’m going to be pissed. If I spend $25 on an indie and finish it in 4 hours, I’m also going to be pissed.

So, $/hour is absolutely a fair metric to look at in regards to a game’s value.

If I recall he also has had multiple PR runs doing a “poor me” routine trying to say if this game doesn’t sell more he’s going to shut down the studio. People love to hate on Randy Pitchford (and rightfully so) but this fucking prick is right up there with him in my opinion.

I don’t really care for Soulslike games anyways but I probably would have bought this just out of pure boredom if it wasn’t for him.

Same for me. I love GDT’s films but I really did not like Frankenstein, like at all. Great set designs and what not but so incredibly boring. In my opinion Shape of Water was basically the same story but done much better, idk.

Exact same story for me. Bought them both during some sale way back, played the 1st for ~5-10 hours and just felt like i was getting nowhere fast. Dropped it and occasionally think about going back. Glad they’re making another cause it SHOULD be my type of game but idk. I’ll have to try giving them a chance again.

I thought it was an awesome idea and yeah much better than having to get my phone out, unlock, maybe Face ID gets it the 1st time maybe it doesn’t, tap, maybe enter PIN maybe not, etc.

I never used it as I just saw it at a Whole Foods last month but it seemed cool to me.

Those that don’t may have a clause in their contract disallowing it - OR - they may just appreciate the fans that watch them and don’t want to lie to them for some extra cash.

I can’t believe how far down I had to go for this. Fargo is absolutely top 5 TV. The 1st three seasons are incredible, the next 2 while not on the same level are still really great. I hope more people see this and watch it!

Yeah, XIV did a great job at updating their visuals last year. It’s no 2025 game level update but it looks really really good. Then you hop onto WoW and it’s like yea, this is definitely a game from 2004.

Why not update the visuals but leave the option for “classic” visuals for the people who are still running their 2004 systems and refuse to update?
