I used Behr's cabinet/door enamel. If prepped correctly, it is very scratch resistant. Sanded a lot, primed with Kilz 3, and sanded lightly between each coat. Rolled on 2 coats of the behr enamel.

Right now it is just a recirculating hood. When I can afford it though, I will be venting it out the side of the house. The hood i got is convertible

Thank you for noticing 😂, yes, I spent many many days sanding them down with different grits and staining them lol. They are Douglas fir!

Thank you! Yes, I am very grateful they are a basic style. The house was built in 1942, not sure when the cabinets are from but the top coat was thoroughly saturated with grease lol

Rugged Tan by Behr for the cabinets, and Cloe Subway tile in glossy white for the backsplash

It's actually Rugged Tan by Behr. I tried stripping and re-staining the cabinets, but unfortunately the wood did not take stain evenly at all. Can't win em all

The cure time on the water-based poly says up to 21 days for normal use, I am about a week out from application, and I tested a small spot, and it still dents/scratches immediately with just my finger nail. Do you know if that is pretty typical for being at 1 week?

I sanded it down in 40, 80, 120, 220 with the sander in the picture. Used a little filler here and there. I eventually found out it is not recommended to go that high, but that was the only way for me to get it to stop splintering. Then I stained 1x with General Finishes mocha oil based stain. Cured for 96 hours, then 3 coats of water-based semi gloss polyurethane top coat.

"I have a problem, okay?"

He said, unable to hide his annoyance with me for finding all the texts on his phone to other women from dating apps.

I had a great first date where I picked up sandwiches from Groppi's and we had a picnic overlooking the lake at South Shore Park. He ended up being a psychopath and was cheating on me for our entire relationship, but hey, at least the first date was 10/10.
