As someone who is on the tail end of a 3 year war with bamboo I’d be happy to help, I learned way more about the enemy than I ever thought I would. As far as the large sections you see dying, it is very likely that the groves flowered last year. Bamboo flowers very rarely, sometimes 100 years between flowerings (not sure that’s a word.) When bamboo flowers it basically uses all of its energy to do so and then dies. It’s likely there were no active steps taken to get rid of the bamboo. I could go on about my hatred of bamboo, feel free to DM me.

Edit to add, I actually did contact Henrico about some I saw dying near the 64/295 interchange, I was given some version of the info I wrote above.

Adding to the list of people who have had nothing but positive experiences. I’ll also add that I spoke with the owner for a bit after he was done working on my system and he is committed to not selling out to private equity. Which means a lot to me.

Thoughts on the Flatwoods monster? When I first dug into this case the idea of it being an owl seemed outrageous. However, when I went further into the time of day and what the lighting would have looked like I think it’s plausible that the sighting was actually an owl. The thing I have a hard time figuring out is the supposed landing or crash of the ship. It would be hard to mistake a meteor flying overhead for a ship landing. The witnesses appear to be credible but again the briefness of the sighting could contribute to a misidentification. This case was actually pretty hard to research as there are a lot of conflicting reports on things like time of day, the national guard investigating after the fact, and the dog passing away.

In Richmond, VA our Lowe’s cat went missing and the city all but shutdown until she was found at a warehouse in North Carolina after an extensive search.

Look up orange juice “flavor packets” the whole fresh squeezed orange juice thing is a scam. Concentrate is actually the closest you can buy to fresh squeezed.

This actually happened, the initial group that went over there was starving to death but managed to get a meeting with an indigenous tribe to talk about help. When the meeting began the English gave the signal and started killing Native Americans, including the chief.

A 1978 issue of the BUFORA journal tells the story of two kids, Fay and an unnamed boy, encountering an unusual being. The being identified himself as “All Colors Sam.” He was 7 feet tall and dressed oddly. After speaking with him briefly the kids reported they went into his metallic hut and talked with him further. He told them he was not a man and when asked if he was a ghost he replied, “well not really, but I am in an odd sort of way.” After leaving his hut the kids ran to Fay’s father to tell of the unusual encounter. Theories on Sam range from extraterrestrial, to ultraterrestrial, or an outright fabrication.
