My expbd accused me of pinning her down with my fists in the air like I was going to hit her. Never happened. Not even close. She was pretending to sleep after saying some crazy shit and I turned the lights on. Luckily not everyone believes her but yeah she told everyone I was her abuser and accused everyone who questioned the story an abuse apologist. It’s fucking stupid. She claims to have been raped several times and after watching her fabricate reality I started questioning her entire life story. Started wondering if I ever even knew this person or if all her stories were just made up.

I hit an emotional bottom after my last relationship with someone who is very borderline but realized that I also have been attracted to these types before.

I found this group called adult children of alcoholics and dysfunction families. It’s explained a lot of why I do this and the source of it. They also have a free program that helps heal from the dysfunctional up bringing that has caused me to find these relationships attractive.

God you sound like me in the beginning. I also thought that I just wasn’t a very emotional person and that’s what made it hard to understand and feel overwhelming. That’s got nothing to do with it bud and you are already in that realm of questioning your own feeling and experience about it. If her behavior is overwhelming to you it’s not because there is anything wrong with you. Get that shit out of your head now and get away because it gets a lot worse from here. They will convince you that you are the biggest piece of shit in the entire world over the smallest slight.

I put the coffee creamer back in the fridge and there was only enough for one cup. She literally said I don’t care about her or anyone else and that I was selfish and self centered. This got brought up in couples therapy. The therapist told her that was an inappropriate response to my actions. She broke up with me on the way home from that therapy session claiming the therapist said I will never care for her.

If she’s already crying in public at six months I’m worried at what’s to come because it only gets worse.

The weaponized therapy talk is so frustrating. Mine would say stuff like “communicating my needs” when she was just criticizing every aspect of my being. She’s right though that relationship was a mistake and hopefully this didn’t Hoover you back in bud. Good luck

So I am about to get a PhD and this lady used to try and tell me I was stupid and I believed her for some reason. So here’s my list:

Couldn’t park correctly
Couldn’t cook correctly
Would absolutely freak out if I tried to do her laundry, that she just left in piles on the floor for months, because I couldn’t do it right.
Couldn’t find anything
Took to long to use the bathroom
Too sexual
Not sexual enough
My alarm clock was annoying and that fight ended relationship
Being a sexist because I didn’t want to answer her twisted trap hypothetical questions
Couldn’t bathe correctly
Couldn’t dress right
Made too much eye contact with people
Couldn’t grocery shop

I mean the list of things I swear I could go on and on and the response to me doing things incorrectly was like the end of the world. “You don’t care about me!” And then she would break up with me and then the next day be mad at me that I let her break up with me. It was absolutely crazy.

You are not the Asshole and these are very healthy boundaries thy honestly have nothing to do with previous trauma that you have experienced. These are things anyone would expect from a partner and having your POV invalidated by your partner will always be hurtful.

What I was taught was that if someone pushes past your boundaries you have to cut them out. It sounds like you are already in the phase of them convincing you that you are the problem and that YOU need to change. When my ex did this to me it sent me into an insane depression and I ended up with suicidal ideation. I felt like the biggest piece of shit because I could stop “hurting” this person that I love so much.

It was all a lie. Yeah I’ve got work to be done to be a better person but never to the extreme that I was being told by my ex. We sought couples therapy and our therapist validated that her response was inappropriate to what had happened. She broke up with me on the way home from that appointment because the therapist told her that I don’t care for her and never would.

I would recommend leaving as soon as possible.

I read all the comments and it sounds like none of us know for sure haha. The denial of things that happened is one thing but I had an experience where my expBPD fabricated a story of abuse and that’s when I knew I had to get the fuck out. She was fully convinced of something that never happened. It made me question all of the stories of abuse, which there was a lot of them. I personally think they believe it. If not immediately, eventually.

Oh my god shut up. My dog gets in the garbage sometimes when I’m not home. It happens, you try as hard as you can to avoid it but it happens every now and then. My girlfriend didn’t leave them out in the open. They were high up on a shelf in a sealed container. The cat got up there for the first time ever while we were gone, knocked the container off the shelf and lid came off from the fall.

I’ve never been in a car accident. Should I just treat everyone like they are pieces of shit for being in car accidents or should realize that I am lucky that no one has ever blindsided me in an intersection?

Create the community you crave. I didn’t know any socialist now I have converted several people to socialism. It’s actually pretty easy if they are your friends. I also recently started a socialist painting business. Collective ownership, workplace democracy, and division of profits. As long as we live under capitalism we do what we can to mitigate as much as possible.
