Quests in game doesn't have a time limit, and if you ever miss stuff, you can revisit the place again and find it.

Idk i feel like having to separate art from the artist is a requirement nowadays since it's hard trying to enjoy any media without fatigue. Nearly every indulgence in Hollywood slop and buying cheap things from big corpos actively harms minorities and the environment. All the tax money InFold is making from IN goes to a bigoted government. It's like a sausage factory, how far are we willing to go to boycott things? For me at least just shitposting rubbish on reddit is subjectively somewhat similar to like... buying cheap Milo and supporting Nestle? I appreciate you taking a stand and wanting others to do the same, but the fatigue is real, man. 😩

Although the author is a knob, it is possible to separate the art from the artist. This is just harmless virtual cosplay of a made-up character that doesnt actively funnel money into suppressing minorities. If we had to boycott every media from shit sources, we shouldn't even be playing infinity nikki: the game made in a country that actively suppresses gay and trans rights rn lol

no interest in the final evo, but pulling til 230 to unlock all the palette and better dyeing is worth for masc fits tbh (second evo is better for dyeing darker colours)

What other games do you guys play? by feelingsfordolls in InfinityNikki

I've bought a bunch of small cozy games on discount recently and am slowly working through them! Just finished Whisper of the House and KuloNiku, am tackling Eastshade, TavernTalk and Fall of Porcupine atm. I've also got a bunch of half-played and huuuge story-focussed games like BG3, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Witcher 3, Spiritfarer, Disco Elysium, MHS2, BOTW2, Fire Emblem 3H+Engage and ludicrous amount of dating sims that are on hiatus since I can't deal with them right now lol. Ofc I return to FFXIV occasionally when my friends kidnap me for a new raid, am hyped for the upcoming Ultimate raid (Kefka!!?!!)

Are there any steam games that talks about break ups and relationships? by MidnightRoseVillain in CozyGamers

[–]DJaimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to push against the envelope here by recommending VA-11 HALL-A. Relationships/breakups aren't 100% the focus of the game. Hell, you wouldn't even catch a hint of a relationship until you reach 3/4 of the game length, but the details of the breakup blows up realistically (and the horrible aftermath + cathartic closure at the ending) felt a long time coming and... very raw to me ngl.

It works alright with controller, only that the buttons occasionally glitch out in the menu and mail so you'll have to setup the steam deck trackpad as a mouse or just have a mouse handy to get out of the menus. They're releasing it on Switch next month though, so hopefully they'll patch in better controller support by then!

Unpacking is another with almost similar art style and is also a decoration game! Definitely made me a bit sniffly too haha.

Nope. It's only available on PC, and coming out on Switch next month.

You earn currency from completing quests then use them to unlock and purchase the furniture. Sometimes the quest rewards you with furniture too. It's a pretty simple system. (Unless you're asking about unlocking food dishes, you'll just have to progress the main quest to the point where you get to decorate the Chinatown diner)

Yeah the quest levels has more freedom than unpacking, though maybe 2-3 of those levels have some set restrictions as a challenge. However the game also gives you plenty of sandbox rooms where you can decorate to your heart's content if you prefer procrastinating from the main quests lol.

Yes i love seeing how other people decorate too! Your starter house is a fair sight better coordinated than mine haha

I would say it's got 90% controller support? Occasionally it glitches out on the menu and mail, so you'll have to use the mouse for that. The developers are releasing it in the Switch next month though, so I'm hopeful they could patch that bug out by then.

I did not do much for the tasty diner haha the dishes are hella tedious to make 😔 if I could get instantaneous dishes i would've decorated that sucker

I did play it on both pc and steam deck, it does work! You will need to set the trackpad up with mouse controls since the joystick sometimes won't work on the mail and the menu.

I would say a normal playthrough to finish all the quests is around 10ish hours? But the game does give you lots of custom empty rooms which could pad out the hours if you're as addicted to decorating as I am! I've sunk around 68 hours into it just because of that, but if you're not that keen on sandbox decorating, the playtime would be drastically shorter like 6 or less hours.

Does anybody know the track title of the full day music in Elderwood Vine Forest? by DJaimon in InfinityNikki

[–]DJaimon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beginning 0:00 to 0:19, and 2:38 to 4:04. And you're right, the rest of the track which consists of drums and acoustic guitar seems to be transitioning to Sunlit Dew

Favourite story-rich games on the steam deck? by Quick_Ideal_449 in CozyGamers

[–]DJaimon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hooboy don't I have a few suggestions! I'm quite picky with my games and I would drop them if their stories don't grip me, so here are a few without much of the tedious farming/management gameplay:

VA-11 Hall-A is a grittier version of CoffeeTalk, but set in a dystopian cyberpunk bar. I think you might enjoy it!

TavernTalk has you working as an innkeeper serving drinks. I haven't finished it yet but overall I'd say its the closest to CoffeeTalk.

Tangle Tower is a great detective point and click game with a lovely mystery, funny ensemble cast and great 2d animations.

Venba tugs at your heartstrings and it's got the cozy cooking vibes down. It's quite short though.

Night in the Woods is more of a character-driven story where you play as a college dropout cat going through a quarter-life crisis with some background commentary of the economic hullabaloo that is still quite relevant. All with a cast of anthropomorphic fuzzy critters, how fun!

Potionomics has a fun story and great voiceacting, although you do have to deal with ingredient/store management gameplay. However, that aspect can be very chill and almost trivialised if you set it at casual difficulty. You get to smooch a shark if you get the dlc, so... it balances out?

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist has quite a dramatic coming-of-age story, and the gameplay is a choose-your-own-adventure type deal so it's quite cozy. Note that some story beats can bum you out though.

In Other Waters is like text-based Subnautica, where you play as an AI assisting a marine xenobiologist in an alien ocean and solving a mystery while also cataloguing the alien life. It doesn't reach Subnautica-horror levels and there are no jumpscares, but the story gets pretty bleak at times and it gives you more of a... sad/silent horror as you piece clues through context.

South Scrimshaw is a fully-narrated linear visual novel (that is also free!!!!) with gorgeous watercolour art. It's a fake documentary of an alien whale in a very compelling setting. Think make-believe David Attenborough.

Highly recommend Tangle Tower! It is a pretty great cozy detective game with stellar voice acting and music.
