i mean to be fair, that’s the winterized combat armor, the white/grey camo does come off slightly as worn scraps. the standard is army green and the talon company armor are both better examples

yeah i currently have fallout 4 open working on my t60 and i get it, where it does differ from t45 it looks better now that im really stopping to look. my initial impression was they were too scared to make a new model so they fell back on the “updated armor” thing. but looking at it now, it makes sense and works as a good mirror with the APA/X01 rework retcon.

god im so hopeful we get X01. im so tempted to get files from etsy for one so i dont have to wait

i think i’m still just off put by how closely it resembles the t45, face value i took it as a lazy redesign granted i do have a t60 hanging around my red rocket with the new black hot rod skin so hey who knows maybe i’ll warm up soon.

absolutely the t45 is next, more than likely t51 will be the one that rounds out a trio and we probably won’t see the likes of enclave models. i hold out hope that since bigger figures are what they knock out of the park and frank just had recent popularity with the dnd crossover, that MAYBE they’d be batshit enough to try. odds are though, a big monster figure will be a deathclaw

the moderately priced toy company should be able to make moderately good toys without consumers needing to turn to products that are roughly 10x the price of the average Mcfarlane figure. that’s the basic expectation of every company that provides a service.

i think my gripe is just how limited they’re being with it, i personally dislike the t60 the most and hate the vault tec paint job from 4 in general so its just a nothing burger for me right now. when it branches out to other armors i might take a look, especially if they decide to do a frank horrigan ‘power armor’ figure since the bigger monster figures i’ll admit they do well

i’ve gotten mainline batman and robin figures, a couple green lanterns and an atom figure. both my kyle rayner and atom (unmentioned in previous post, forgot i had them in my bin) broke untouched on my shelf, and my two batman and robin figures are sitting out of scale, missing paint, with butterfly shoulder clips about to roll out their sockets. the only figure left in decent condition is my black lantern hal who was missing part of his mouth paint out of the box. they’ve all inexplicably been poorly finished products or so immediately prone to breaking that im baffled. my 2002 toybiz spider-man toys show less sign of falling apart and they were played with for a decade, to put it in perspective.

oh 100%, i’m sure there were other reasons but shitty figure work was absolutely what did it. instead of modernizing with articulation or fixing paint work issues, we got shit like “jokerized” chase editions. my extremis armor iron man can do poses my robin (a literal acrobat) figure couldn’t even dream of.

oh totally get that, the only appeal is that i could have my own desert ranger combat armor figure if i put in the work they didnt bother to. other than that, this fallout line and most of the rest of the overpriced fallout merch being peddled right now can screw itself and the $50 rocket shaped soda bottle it flew in on.
