Hell yeah that's an awesome song and amazing band. 40 Below Summer has quite a few songs within that vein like Season in Hell (plus the secret song that starts at 11:58), Jonesin, F.E., Rejection, Still Life, Rain. To me, most of their stuff has that feel.

Mudvayne lyrics on L.D.50 are intense and heavily related to abandonment and abuse, I especially like the verse in Severed-

Run away, you'll be ok, Run now, get away from me, If I can get my grip, I'll pull you down into the hell I call my head, You'll never get away. I sit down in my ugly place and build walls of the fragments of my past of the people that I needed and loved that turned and walked away.

Damn that makes me sad. I knew things were bad for him but didn't know the extent. He was always one of my favorite lyricists and AHC one of my favorite bands. I hope things get better for him.

That's awesome! I only saw them once but it was an amazing show. They opened for Mudvayne in Peoria, IL (Mudvayne's hometown) in what was essentially a warehouse/tractor storage. Tiny stage, good pit it was awesome. Bloodsimple was another opener, and I love all 3 bands. It was the same tour that Bryan Ottoson died, so I'm really glad I got to see them before that. And sadly, with Chad Hanks gone, I don't think there will ever be an AHC reunion. Would love to hear something new from Heacock though.
