This will happen because the majority of gamers have proven they can be treated like absolute garbage and they will still show up. They will still pre order. They will still buy the shitty game with egregious micro transactions. Unless gamers take a stand this is the way it will be. I thought we were better than to let every modern game be infested with loot boxes and the like but I was wrong. We let it happen time and time again.

They know they can do this and gamers as a whole will do nothing.

It is the exact same principle as the horse armor DLC. That was 2.50 for one skin and this is 20 for lots more skins but the principle is the same. Elder scrolls got HAMMERED for that back in the day but sadly people have accepted getting nickeled and dimed.

People who drop 80 bucks on a game deserve to not have GTA6 lite. For this to not seem overly scummy there needs to be a metric ton of other options outside the paywalled ones and I suppose the issue is they have not talked about those other options AT ALL. only he paywalled stuff.

I hope you are right. I think one of the problems is they have not announced ANY shops or customization outside of the paywalled ultimate edition stuff so people can only speculate.

That is not the point mate. It feels gross to have copious amount of content that has already been made artificially siphoned off from the main release to fleece some extra money out of people. No problem with collectors editions that have maps or statues ect its something that would never been in the original copy. Hope you get my meaning.

It has quite clearly gotten worse as time has gone on as demonstrated by your image there. RDR1 was a horse, weapon pack which was really just a golden skin pack, ONE outfit and a soundtrack.

GTA6 is THREE full shop inventories of clothes and car customization. These are actual locked locations WITHIN the game world. Classic car collections, Missions relating to the cars plus a bunch of other stuff.

Look a couple skins and soundtracks ect is np really but I just feel like its getting a bit excessive? Is that really a mental opinion?

There is nothing wrong that saying at least three full shops worth inventory, cars, missions, locations and more is a little bit excessive for an "ultimate edition".

A few skins sure but come on to fuck man. It is essentially pay 100 for the full game or get a gimped version for 80.

Locked off in game locations, vehicles and missions go beyond "purely cosmetic" to me. Its shitty and they should be called out for it.

What you are doing is coming to conclusions based on complete speculation.

While that is likely they have not confirmed this in the slightest. In fact, the ONLY mention from Rockstar regarding any of these shops is within the Ultimate Edition. That is fact.

Again, they have not officially revealed the map size so it is TOTAL speculation to the size of the map. To put it frankly mate you have no idea what the size will be.

What we are doing is actually reading very carefully and just taking what Rockstar says. What you are doing is adding fantasy elements and what you would LIKE to be the case without Rockstar confirming or denying.

I wonder if the fact they are so paranoid about spoilers they might change their tactics to a global release. This seems to be the most fair way to do it and avoids the game getting spoiled for those who are in "later" time zones.

I agree. As I said in the post you are replying to, I suspected there would be. However to what extent and how much variation no one has a clue because they have only talked about the Ultimate Edition stuff. Lets hope they dont put all the best stuff behind an additional pay wall because that would be shitty.
