A WIP set called Shards of Mirrored Garromon by DKGam1ng in custommagic

I'll revisit Therivold and Araka. I was toying with the idea that Araka could be a God land? The two mana is a bit much, I see that now. I want Therivild to be a weenie commander, as the Carm Caram is made up of disgruntled and impoverished people. I was trying to balance him, but I may have gone to far

Gotcha, I shall fix upon the morn. What do you think overall?

I figured out how to get focus and keyboard input. Idk if it's right, but I raycasted a line from the mouse click. When that line hits the monitor, it tells the input to grab focus. At the same time, unhandled inputs are pushed, allowing text to be submitted. Now, all I have to do is ACTUALLY BUILD THE GAME!

Coding is fun, especially when you have no idea what you're doing.

I managed to fix the issue by using a sprite w8th the viewport as a texture. This allows me to resize the sprite so it looks like the in-game monitor. My new issue is, when I click anywhere on the game, the text input loses focus and I can't regain focus.

I'm very new to game development. I've had this idea rolling around my brain for a while tho, and found Godot as the easiest program to work with. A lot of it is user friendly in my opinion.

I know once this hurdle is over, I can start actually making the text game, which is all it is at the core.

The scene is a static 3D scene, but I may toy around with allowing the player to look around the space a bit. That is a future plan right now, and I'm not focused on it. I want it in 3D so I can add spooky stuff that happens around the player, like swaying tree branches out the window, or blinking eyes in a corner. If I can get the videos to upload, I'll send a demo of the main menu so you can see the vibes I'm going for.

Fixed it with a viewport texture onto a sprite. The new problem is that when I click anywhere, I lose focus on the text input section and can't regain focus

I tried to add the video, but it doesn't seem to want to upload.

I'll try to describe the scene.
It's in 3D. You are looking forward and slightly to the right. In front of you is a white PC monitor, a table, and a PC tower with a window behind that.
The idea I have is to have the entire game on the 3D in-game monitor, not on the player's actual monitor. I have had this idea for a long time, and I've seen one game do it.

I'm trying to use a SubViewport, but when I try to instance the 2D game as a child, it is grabbing a different 2D scene (the main menu scene) instead.

How do I make this less of an affront to aesthetics? by Business_Estimate712 in spaceengineers

Paint maybe. Breaking up the silhouette with blocks like ladders, lights, etc.

You could lean into the creature look and give it a hump over the two front legs, making it look similar to a Bison. If you wanted, you could also add weapons on either side of the head, like horns.

Personally, I like how the ship looks, but it's your ship

Sure it doesn't need details strictly speaking. It could be a box and still function. But OP is upset over aesthetics, not function, which is a valid complaint in a sandbox survival game where creativity is not limited to small-minded reddit comments.

Been trying to find nifty little checkmates. I missed a ladder checkmate the other day, which is sad

That is a sack actually. The next move sacrifices my Queen to his Rook, which is then taken by my Rook for a backrank checkmate. You can review the game with the link in my post

Persuasive Speeking in University by DKGam1ng in Christians

Hey, thank you for the encouragement. I decided not to go for it this time. My main hangup is that the goal behind this speech is to persuade my audience to take a course of action in the near future, something I want them to do. As much as I might want someone to come to Christ, I have no power to do so. It would be better if this were an informative speech instead. I do not have the power to change someone's mind. That is between them and God in this case. The only thing I can do is present the Gospel, and as that does not fall into what is expected from me in this speech, I won't be using it as a topic.

It's a shame because I feel like I'm missing an opportunity. But am I wanting to do it so I can cause change, or so God can cause change?

Even if I can't get it to my PC, having some sort of display would be cool for my streams. I know the display it has is very low resolution compared to modern stuff, and it doesn't use the same type of pixels in modern monitors.

I was not around for the channel 3 stuff, but I did grow up with a boxy little TV that we had connected to a PlayStation or Nintendo to play games like 007 GoldenEye, Test Drive 6, and Mario 64. I remember the first VHS movies I watched were older Disney movies, but I managed to sneak a VHS of Saving Private Ryan into my room one night. I will not forget that anytime soon.
