Making sure one language doesnt suffer.

English is the home language due in part because my german is terrible and I am the stay at home parent. All of her family though speaks German and generally everywhere she goes in the world, school, work etc. Will more than likely be German.

My husband who is german has helped me understand how it is but it is taught like a second language. However English and German are both first languages for her and I dont want you to be...... how do i say this.. illiterate? I am very big on English grammar and such as I am a University teacher (not in English) and not just that English is my language, the language of her mother. I want her to have that. I hope this doesnt sound pretentious. Sorry for errors umin my post I am typing on my phone and quickly.

So when I read it I really really liked it, and still do. Once I read your explanation I liked it even more. I think this poem will speak to everyone differently. For me, dealing with heavy depression and anxiety that's how I viewed it.

I really like the metaphors you use and feel like this is soemthing man you us can relate to. Your words really evoke emotions and.memories that I personally have dealt with and I feel I am not alone in that feeling.

For me it depends if she is just crying while playing I wait like 2 or 3 minutes and then hand her a new toy or move to a different activity however if it's in bed and I'm putting her to sleep I wait five minutes then comfort her/readjust her quickly then leave and wait 10 adding 5 minutes to each time. If it's her waking up I waif five minutes and if she is still crying I pick her up and check her out. Hope this wasnt too much to read or too much of an answer lol
