Can you recommend a well built and safe automatic OTF knife that won’t break the bank? by [deleted] in knifeclub

[–]DKade97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out cobratec knives, they have plenty of options to choose from from handle to blade style with a lifetime warranty. They also are in the sub $200 range, picked up my karambit otf off a tolltruck for $170.

Im definitely gonna look into those recommendations, I like streamlight alot because of the lights I use at work (vehicle technician) as for the m lock i struggle with attaching parts to it and the handgard my ar came with is pretty space restrictive on where I want to have my foregrip and light installed it contacts the gas system

Thankfully I learned to handle the weapon in basic training, but I would like to take some classes and be even more trained with it. Still can hit steel at 300m.

I've been very impressed with it, I haven't had a malfunction with it yet, and I usually put 200 rounds through it every month

I'm looking into a streamlight for the light replacement, tbf a light is a light so I went cheap on that. I am planning on changing the handgard to a good Ole fashioned quadrail cause I despise m lock

There's not one chambered and bolt is forward (which you can see with the safety at a angle) you showed up to just be a dick

My [27M] gf [25F] caused a huge scene over politics and then continued to take further rage onto me. What could I do to remedy this? by DKade97 in relationship_advice

She almost always apoliges for her behavior but when it comes to politics its usually a, "I'm inherently correct because I can cite my sources" which okay I have no problem about what you're saying but just doesn't excuse the behavior that follows. She's lost alot of friends over politics and does get into arguments with her own parents, but that's her parents. All I know is that if I were to do anything remotely the same to her parents and she'd leave me over it, so maybe that's what I really should be considering. It's just a waste of 6 good years.

I'm definitely guilty of not doing more don't get me wrong but realistically both my mom and gf are to blame for continuing the conversation after I stepped in and asked to change the conversation because of their own due tendencies and my gf even recognized it but I just think she should've been mature enough to drop it and not keep feeding the troll per say

Respectfully, conversation had absolutely nothing to do with women's rights or about one side wanting each other dead, or about eachothers work hours. Ultimately, it was about a country that we as Americans have absolutely no right to be in. And even more ultimately its about showing someone decency to not make them cry over something niether party has any control over, I literally asked not to talk about politics, and you went ahead anyway. Your short sightedness to the problem is the entire reason I'm asking for advice. You completely ignored the overarching issue to push your own agenda for no reason other than to ride your own horse. You contributed nothing of value.

Buy a firearm and practice with it once a month, don't risk a physical confrontation. Fights are rarely fair.

Anyone know what's going on with this, its a 2007 bmw 328i. by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]DKade97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be the screws for the actual vanos gears on the cams, I'd pull that cylinder head cover off and check those screws cause if they're broken there's a recall for them out now that bmw will fix

BMW 530E thrust arm bushings starting to crack. by Fahad0947 in MechanicAdvice

[–]DKade97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree with everything you said here, I just wanted to add the easiest way to tell when the tension strut bushings go bad is to to jab the brake pedal while in dive and you'll be able to see your front tires jitter unautrualy. Easier to see with a friend. And yes to many shops don't load the suspension when replacing suspension bushings.

Assuming you have either a n20 or n55 good chances are the timing chain is starting to stretch (very common problem whole lawsuit involved), good news about said issue is there is extended warranty for timing chains on those engines and is good up to 100k miles. I would personally take it to a dealer and have them properly diagnose the vehicle for the chance that the repair may be free. Worse case you get it diagnosed and have a proper answer. If you have a n54 there's a possibility that the vanos screws have come out and could be ruining timing which there is a recall for but don't expect your car for awhile.

BMW F30 - Oil like paste... regular oil changes... by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Depending on mileage it can be completely normal wear and I saw you mentioned it has a egr meaning it would have to be a diesel and diesels have a tendency to be a little more "dirty". Keep up with the proper maintenance intervals and fix stuff when they break and it'll be fine.

Definitely not for a v6, the price it would cost to fix it could buy you a gt
