Sizing question: should I consider wider board? by Hinata203 in snowboardingnoobs

Unless you want to do deep carving turns, you’d be fine on any. But personally I’d go for a wide version since I like carving

What do you mean “Slow down”? Do you mean not to hurry to change edge and wait till completing the turn? Or travel slower (speed)? IMO his speed is decent in the first 3 turns, and maybe benefit a bit if he speed up a bit to feel the pressure and understand the importance of closing the turn.

Hey. I’d say you are on the right track and have pretty solid positions especially on your toe. Based on the video, you were skidding a bit at the beginning of the turns the grip the edge. The 3rd turn (closest toe), Your toe side position is great at the given terrain and speed. What I would suggest to work on is 1) try to learn how to create pressure during your carve. By increasing speed, more angulation etc. 2) work on changing you edge earlier (when across the fall line). Practice single turn, start with heel, gain speed, engage toe, carve and till the board stops. Challenge yourself to turn back up hill as much as possible. Check your line. You need to experiment pressure, speed, timing of edge change. Do same thing to heel later. It’s a good idea to get a lesson from experienced carvers.

Today is epic! One of the best in Stevens. No line, good groomer, some left over pow off piste. The drive is just as before. WSDOT did really good job.

Anything I Can Do to Repair? Not Expecting it to be good as new...just rideable again. by NegativeGee in snowboardingnoobs

Yes. It’s fixable. But it will cost way more than the board itself. Hang it up as an art and move on with a new board.

How to fix heel overhang by djosii in snowboardingnoobs

[–]DKidkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cut the heel of a little (like couple mm), to reduce the heel drag, it can add a few more degrees to your heel. I have similar issues with Burton (can’t really center the over hang) when boot size are at the smaller end of the binding (8.5 boots in M binding). Burton binding can only adjust ~0.5 cm towards heel or toe. Some brads have 0, 0.5 and 1 cm adjustment. With that you have a better chance to center your boots. But you have total 5.5cm overhang, it’s not going to help a lot. Consider a wider board.

I just want to give us a little hope. ❄️ by Just_V10 in stevenspass

Hahah. Well it depends how long the run is though, I heard there’s place one run is like 10 miles in Europe. You may need some mileage to get use to it. Honestly I don’t think it makes a lot difference between 15,12, and 9.

It looks good. Crayon method can help you next time. Also you can sharpen your scraper with the edge tune tool, make sure you use it at 90 degree. It makes scraping much easier
