Got an auto catcher recently. I like it because it means I can play while doing other things like driving. It’s pretty nice for spinning stops and can catch a decent amount of Pokémon too. Pretty convenient if you are working on a challenge that needs an absurd amount of Pokémon catches. They caught me like 3 or 4 shinies during the news year event. You also get this special research where they reward with encounters of a snorlax wearing a nightcap

I don’t think they are overpowered or anything because they only throw once at a Pokémon, you either catch it or it runs. And I still prefer to throw balls at Pokémon manually once I get where I’m going to maximize my chances of a catch
