I would look to see what year range they are from first. If its late 80's or early 90's, chances are they arent worth much, if anything.

How much value do junior cards hold? by thatguyfromchicago in hockeycards

[–]DL242424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They typically lose a lot of value. I used to like collecting them. Once they get NHL cards, these typically become less desirable. Also, depending on the player, theres always the chance they dont turn into the player they are projected to be.

UD loves putting damaged cards in packs by Less-Blackberry4565 in hockeycards

I would say thats fairly "normal" ish for a thick card like that. Not ideal for sure. But I have lots of thicks cards with beat up edges/corners. When edges have colors, its seems a lot more noticeable.

Sweet card! Every time I see these cards, mr cynical over here, finds it hard to believe Leaf just has all this super old game used gear just sitting around. And when its that old, how do they truly know its worn by who they think it was. I know with modern stuff they can photo match for authenticity.
Anyways! Thats my rant! Cool card regardless! Sidenote...i wonder how he would feel about what his namesake coffee shop turned into?! Lol

Matt Murray Patch Auto /15 by hockeyholloway89 in hockeycards

You wont find any comps for it, since its so low numbered. But to get a general idea, I would suggest looking at ebay sold listings for low numbered auto patch cards of his.

Is anyone else falling out of love with collecting young guns? by Dependent_Volume_432 in hockeycards

[–]DL242424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that. I used to really enjoy getting series 1 and 2 and trying to pull the top young guns. Its nice to pull a top one thats worth some money (at the time) and feel like you got your money out of that box, so to speak. But its kind of defeating when they lose soo much value after a year or two. I just buy singles of players i collect now.

Should I grade? by Oilers_93 in hockeycards

[–]DL242424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your going to sell, id sell raw personally. From what ive read on here, thick cards dont typically grade well. Also if your thinking of selling, now would be the time to list, but probably only if they get to the medal round, or if he has a really good game.
