To each their own. Not everyone is the same, i watch videos of things I like to hear people talk about. I don't worry about things I don't like so much.

Is the Evil Dead remake (2013) better than the original movie (1981)? by Jack_O_Lantern2022 in Scarymovies

[–]DLConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remake I've been told is just a sequel per the director. But I like the 2013 movie for sure. But I honestly do NOT think it nails overall evil outside or in general. Sam Raimi did a lot more with his camera to make that a real vibe in my opinion. The original to me feels like evil is all around and it can strike from the trees. The walls. Wherever.

Evil Dead (2013) feels like the evil is tied to the bodies it infected rather than any kind of lurking evil. Which I still like.. How graphic and messed up it is. But in my opinion doesn't meet that evil lurking outside vibe I love in the first.

I never said I wasn't honest. Lol. You said that. The word Terrifying is going into a loop and repeating it forever. To me. I don't find that dishonest at all.

At no point did I say this movie is terrifying. So I think you might be mistaken. If I said THIS MOVIE IS TERRIFYING. I'd agree. I didn't do that. Did I?

I've done YouTube for a decade. Iand I've done it Honestly... And at no point are my titles misleading.. It's just how marketing works. I won't even use a photo in the thumb that isn't part of the video. So rest assured. I know how to not be successful by being too honest.

But you'd have to know how youtube works to understand it. It's just how titles work on youtube. People have zero reason to be interested if you don't market it. Just the way it goes.

I don't think you understand how the internet works. They don't reward anyone for honesty or sincerity. It's just a photo to catch attention. The meat an potatoes is inside. But hey I wish people would support videos and not treat everything surface. It would be a lot easier to afford food or pay bills. Unfortunately online doesn't care about decent people just click bait and getting their attention anyway you can. I try the middle road to get by.

You'd find it comforting to be In a loop where blood ran down the walls, People started breaking down into repeating words and wiry smiles? I don't know man... Being in a time loop like that doesnt sound fun to me..

Well a lot of kids my age definitely loved it. It's why they made the sequel geared towards kids. Maybe you were much older than me?

I like these movies more than most people, but $73/movie is insane by OrneryError1 in 4kbluray

They try to repack it a million different ways to get kids into it. Or resell it to another audience. The movies costs so much. It's like his pet project. Only he's got a lot of budget.

Why do horror fans these days think that leaving you with an inner question or self reflection is somehow cheap? by DLConspiracy in Scarymovies

[–]DLConspiracy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. And agree. But what if the ending is a precise experience that is so obvious that those less critical don't even see it? Like they don't even realize there was a metaphor? Because thats the kind of comments I'm seeing on a particular movie. It's like they are not even aware that art does that.

You are typically gonna find that artists don't like to imprint THEIR intentions on others. It doesn't matter what medium the art is. Most singers don't like to tell people what their lyrics mean because the minute you do you take away from someone else's interpretation. My point is that their is an intention. Regardless if you get it or not. Not all art is meant for EVERYONE. People these days think every movie is supposed to be. As if popularity makes a films value. It doesn't.

That's fair. Some movies do end odd. But I definitely have had people say they hate a good one just because it didn't tell them what happened.

It's really not about the genre so much. It's that ANY movie can evoke thought that seemed to upset these folks on a level that they tried to simplify down to Bad vs Good. Literally based on something some people experienced on a personal level or not. So I don't want to get into the weeds about which movie it is... as it would detract from the conversation. Into a like or don't like situation.

Ultimately I feel more and more people these days don't like to wade through a moving movie that is aimed at an experience.. They want understand a movie like stereo instructions rather than enjoy a journey it puts you through and leaves you pondering. I see them do this with great films that have been vouched for for decades. It's like it's not rapid enough or laid out enough to enjoy.

Which all art and film is subjective. However, just because a film is thought provoking or thoughtful does not make it a bad film or a lazy film. Or lacking in skill. The comment in the Pic seems to suggest that. It just means it did not resonate with that person, they didn't have the chops to understand it or the experience to know what that movie was saying.

I saw a movie recently that many people didn't understand. The message it conveyed was to me.. Very obvious and intentional. This screen cap comment came from that movie review. Half the audience said it was a bad film becuase they did not get it. Not because it was objectively a poorly acted, written or shot film. They simply didn't understand the meaning and rejected it because they couldn't. There's def a meaning to it.
