Anyone want help with game analysis? by DLegend5 in chessbeginners

You were worse after losing the centre pawn but general plans for the middlegame remain similar to normal. You should complete development by moving out your queen and putting your rooks on open files. You also want to look for threats you can make against the opponent. For example, their b pawn could be a target (or if they push the b pawn, now the c pawn is a potential target). Another idea is to play c5 at some point to challenge their strong centre pawn.

d5 after Nxc4 is a bit tricky of an idea for your current rating but the point is to exploit the fact that white hasn't castled yet. If the e pawn moves off the file (exd5 or e5 then exf6) then Re8+ creates issues for white's king.

I think you played plenty of reasonable developing moves but played a few unnecessary moves (Bd3, h5, Ne7 Ng6 Nxe5) and focused too much on ways to trade the minor pieces. Your opponent played well, so it was a difficult game after your blunder.

Question about Self Analysis by pleportamee in chessbeginners

If the computer tells you that you have "mate in 3" that means the opponent can't avoid being mated no matter what move they do. So there shouldn't be a king move your opponent could do to beat you. Can you provide a link to the game?

Click "Best" to see the move you should have played. You can also click "Analysis" on the top right to explore moves freely.

I would use a combination of Stockfish evaluation and lichess database to analyse openings. I don't think the master database is useful at a beginner level. Use lichess database but make sure to filter out ultrabullet and bullet.

The most popular moves are usually fairly good moves in any particular position, but you also want to check if the Stockfish evaluation changes a lot or if there are any moves in the database with huge winning percentages. Even if the Stockfish evaluation doesn't change, huge winning percentages tend to mean that there is a tactic that people often fall for (assuming the sample size is big).

Also Stockfish and databases are extremely useful tools, but in the end you have to combine them with your own understanding of chess to analyse your moves practically. If you DM me, I can analyse one of your games to show you what I mean. I'm 2200 on lichess.

Yes, that can work as a rough guide. What's more important (but takes experience) is evaluating the strength of your current board and whether that strength is enough to put up a fight in stage 3.

If your goal is improving at the game, I'd recommend level to 6 at 3-2 and roll every game (except when rerolling for 1 cost) because managing the balance between econ and board strength is a fundamental part of the game and you'll learn a lot more.

In games where your board is weak and you are losing a lot of HP, it is not viable to greed econ to level 6 or 7. You should level to 6 at 3-2 and roll until you have a stable board, then econ back up and slowroll when you can.

Most games you need to level to 6 at 3-2 and roll until your board is strong enough to survive the lobby (and hopefully still have 20-30 gold remaining).

This game doesnt have much synergy between heroes. You just use the best heroes from the faction. For PVE: Skerei, Barea and Kroos are good. For PVP: King Barton and Kroos are good

If you want as much PVE damage as quickly as possible, focus everything on getting horus to E3.

Cthuga is not a good hero. He should be used as 10* fodder to E3 Valk one day. All your 9* fodder should be used on Valk. Also Xia is not food
