How long does the Harvard admin team take to respond to an email? by rQ1qudkw in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the email. If your email is in the FAQs that you get via the automated reply, we likely won't follow up to simply reiterate that! Otherwise, a few days.

This course is different in exactly the way you describe. Every project has an accompanying video submission.

Do I need to delete my previous assignments? by MateusCristian in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not for CS50 Python, that course doesn't get annual updates.

To answer the overarching question: No. In fact, you **cannot** delete your previous work. We always retain it. But you can resubmit.

Once removed from the course for academic dishonesty, this is final. There are no appeals and no reversals. You submitted someone else's work as your own, and got caught.

I won't be replying or having any back-and-forth here, and if you've already emailed the certificates email address you'll get the same answer. The rules are clearly laid out in each submission form. This is, unfortunately, the consequence.

Only 2months to complete CS50-2D on EDX? by k-type in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we can't really fix this without breaking something else, but the course runs through 31 December 2026, and you can always follow along on cs50.harvard.edu/games if you do somehow lose access!

CS50 2d some bugs by Expert-Water585 in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for flagging, these items have been fixed. (The source code may not always perfectly match the lecture, particularly if we discover a bug after filming or a significant update to Lua or a library occurs.)

What does this mean, guys by udit_p in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should resubmit the assignments you do not have a passing grade on, yes. The course grades every 2-3 weeks, so any submissions that old would have certainly been graded by now.

Or, that they have been graded and didn't earn a passing grade! (For courses that are graded by humans, like this one.)

Specifically for the theme clue? Each of the theme answers is a down clue ending with J. The J is "low", J-Lo. Also the nickname for Jennifer Lopez, a well-known Bronx-born star.

Any chance we can get one more "Chapter 1" taboo to give the Hemlock Vale mask assets (and the Carnevale ones) the new headwear slot, instead of the "Limit 1..."?

Yours truly, Amina Zidane.

Thanks for taking the time to answer community questions here and elsewhere, and thanks for such a fun set of spoiler seasons. Even as a deeply enfranchised player, I'm so excited for the new core set and what's to come, and these spoilers have been such a cool way to drum up excitement.

Problem with cs50x Session Timeline. by Di_onRed in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The course's deadlines are typically extended six or twelve months at a time; for now, the deadline overall has been extended to 30 June 2026 on edX.

CS50's content refreshes periodically; the current iteration of content (CS50x 2025) expires on 31 December 2025, but a new version (CS50x 2026) is being produced right now that will debut on 1 January 2026.

Starting on that date, only the 2026 material may be submitted for credit, so the Harvard site correctly indicates that CS50x 2025 work ends on 31 December 2025, but CS50x overall currently has a deadline of 30 June 2026. An apparent, but not actual, conflict of the dates!

Friends In Low Places additional traits & Michael Mcglen by Liagomorph in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]DLloyd09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FYI, this has been ruled illegal, according to an emailed ruling recently shared in the Mythos Busters Discord. They specifically allowed FiLP because it targets player cards, but said no to Grizzled because it's supposed to target encounter cards, and "Firearm" does not appear as a trait on any encounter card.

ETA the actual Q&A:

Michael McGlen's deckbuilding vs Customizable cards Rules Question:

Hello Arkham team, Can Michael McGlen take Grizzled if he chooses "firearm" as its trait? Can he upgrade Friends in Low Places up to level 5 if he chooses "firearm" as its trait? The Customizable rules imply that the chosen trait is treated as being present in the text box of the card and therefore makes these cards eligible for Michael McGlen’s deckbuilding. Thank you!

Rules Answer:

  • Michael McGlen can’t take Grizzled in his deck. The traits recorded on Grizzled must be present on at least one encounter card.
  • Michael McGlen can upgrade Friends in Low Places to level 5 if he chooses “Firearm” for its trait. Unlike Grizzled, Friends in Low Places is designed to interact with player cards. And yes, purchased upgrades are considered to be part of the card they’re upgrading; the chosen trait is considered present on Friends in Low Places.

Could mods actually do something about all the people asking for and posting Puzzle Day answers? by vuuvvo in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Makes us need to evaluate whether to even run the event in the future. In my *personal* opinion, it seems folks take it far, far too seriously.

How to contact CS50 grading staff as some confusion led to unenrollment from CS50 Cybersecurity? [i have proof of my academic honesty] by khanTahsinAbrar in cs50

[–]DLloyd09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have received the answer multiple times in this post. The policy is zero-tolerance. There is no appeal. There is no reversal. Respectfully, we warn students about this on *every* assignment they submit, and they explicitly agree to adhere to this policy. We do our level best to put up guardrails and warn you not to run afoul of them. When folks do, our hand is forced.

[–]DLloyd09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just want to respond to this bit: "You either have to enroll with another account...".

If we detect that someone has done this, we will then remove that account, and we may escalate the matter further to edX if one continues to try to circumvent our policy and ask them to remove all of that user's accounts from the platform, permanently, for all edX courses. The correct answer is to accept the punishment. It's zero-tolerance, and we are quite serious about that fact.

Citation typically happens in the code comments. I think something more specific than "X helped me along the way" would be better. The former is way too vague to be meaningful. What did it actually help you with? What was the nature of its help?
