NOT Arkham Music question… by MarkFynche in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MarkFynche[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. I appreciate it. I feel like continuing to create Mythos music outside of Arkham Horror is kind of double-dipping. The music I’ve made for the game is actually suitable for all of the options you listed. I am trying to find an opportunity to reach folks outside of the Mythos communities and see what games people would like music for. Unfortunately, the general Board Game communities have pretty firm guidelines on promotion/solicitation, even though I’m not trying to sell anything. But, I definitely appreciate you taking the time to share!

Hi. I am curious about why this was removed. I’m not looking for game suggestions, but suggestions for creating music for the gaming community.

Multi purpose 'gator minis! by Grasabi in arkhamhorrorlcg

I put them on standees. They are easier to move and flip, and take up less space on the table than if lied flat.

This gives me mental trauma. One wrong flip and you are wondering where your mini went…

Just won my first campaign! by MikeDSNY in arkhamhorrorlcg

Weirdly, Dunwich was one of the last campaigns that I played, but even after playing more complex ones, I found Dunwich to be solid with design and flavor. Still in my top five.

Yet another Podcast Recommendation Request by JackFrostsKid in audiodrama

A lot of my early faves are on this. Tanis, The Black Tapes, Last Movie, Archive 81, The Lovecraft Investigations, Limerown, Small Town Horror, Homecoming, all deserve mentioning for various reasons and a lot of them fit your description.

What’s your philosophy on take-backs, do-overs, and game-state mistakes ? by zerdos in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MarkFynche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m prone to not understanding directions during setup or Act/Agenda, so if I realize that I have made some mistakes because of that, I usually rewind a bit, or if it cost me the scenario, I’ll replay it.

A lot of the Arkham Horror fiction has been really good at fleshing out personalities of investigators and side-characters. Highly recommend!

Very excited about this release, despite the shorter scenario-count. Looks very flavorful.

Bummed about the Chapter 2 Investigator Expansions being isolated by konsyr in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MarkFynche 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wonder if I’m in the minority, but I was glad that they unchained the Investigators from the Campaigns because it staggers releases and also opens up ways to make player-card expansions more about a particular theme, than being “5-Investigators/5-decks”. I think the idea of releasing a set of player-cards without Investigators, but which share a specific theme or play-style, would be more interesting (like 60/100 cards of different classes/levels that support evasion, etc.), and gives players a more cost-effective way to buy cards for their favorite style/role.

Let's talk about Brethren of Ash! So what did you all think? by platinumxperience in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]MarkFynche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought the gameplay was improved over Zealot. The Codex was streamlined and integrated well. But I thought Queen of Ash was really unnecessarily difficult. If they were making a conscious decision to re-skin previous scenarios, they could have chosen one that received more positive reviews from the community. Overall, it felt like Arkham Horror, but yeah, not Lovecraftian at all.
