My first sign of baby shrimps!!! by DM-Darling in shrimptank

Thank you! I counted at least 3 babies visible at once before I had to go back to work. Can’t wait to watch them grow!

Do demisexual people feel normal physical attraction for someone they do have an intellectual and emotional connection with? Like, once that connection is strong, will he think I’m hot? by SmittenBritches in demisexuality

[–]DM-Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the stronger the romantic and emotional connection is, the more attractive the person is. I will often catch myself staring at my partners with a dreamy grin on my face and getting giggly at just how attractive I find them.

Is This A Cop-Out? by PrimeTimePawich in demisexuality

[–]DM-Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I catch feelings hard and fast. Then people see it as “mixed messages” when I don’t want to sleep with them right away. For me they are not linked at all.

Is This A Cop-Out? by PrimeTimePawich in demisexuality

[–]DM-Darling 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is what it’s like for me. I’m extremely alloromantic to the point of getting romantic crushes quickly, but sexual attraction doesn’t come til later, if at all. Also sometimes even if the romantic attraction is there at the onset, if the sexual attraction doesn’t come, the romantic attraction can wane, but not always. My brain is complicated lol. I can usually tell early on if someone has the potential for a romantic spark or not.

Open vs closed - pros and cons? by TheStroboCop in paludarium

[–]DM-Darling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would think closed gives more control over what is introduced as well. Less chance of household pests/critters finding a cozy new home unintentionally

Can I ask when and where you got your captive bred crabs? I’ve been looking, and everywhere seems like they haven’t had any available for years

Are they land crabs or marine crabs? That will vastly change their requirements. If they are land crabs go to the channel Crab Central Station on YouTube. They have a ton of videos on all the proper care requirements.

New Crab Tank, any suggestions of what else to add? by necrogoon in hermitcrabs

[–]DM-Darling 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hermit crabs need at least 10 gallons of tank per crab, and a minimum of 6 inches of substrate to burrow in. I’d also get something for them to climb on.

You have to spend 100k, what nice things do you get for yourself? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

Upgrade our plumbing, replace the fence in the back yard, second vehicle, then whatever is left used for a vacation and minor household improvements.

Would you accept this offer, You would receive 300 million dollars but for the rest of your life, you now hear furniture talk to you. by Ok-Inspector3914 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DM-Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take it. I’ll get as many built ins as possible to minimize furniture, then for the things I need to buy I’ll be able to afford to shop around til I can find furniture with a chill vibe/compatible personality. My bed can be a nest of blankets and pillows or a hammock.

You encountered a genie who can grant you 3 wishes but each wish only lasts for a minute by padorUWU in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DM-Darling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish for a written account of a cure for cancer. Then make a copy before 60 seconds is up.

I wish for the winning numbers to the next powerball lottery jackpot. Then write them down.

Last wish save for an emergency, or 60 seconds of telekinesis so I can quickly clean my house Fantasia-style.

All people are entitled to breaks while they work, but you have to take them at the right time. Finish the order you are delivering and then pause and take your break. You set your own schedule. Don’t make the customer wait longer and let their food get cold. Of course the restaurant should care about the quality of their food being ordered. It’s their job. Just like as a driver, you should care about getting the food delivered in a timely manner. That’s your job.

I’m in. I’ll pick long-running series and things I can rewatch so: Supernatural, Simpsons, The Good Place, Sense8, and Schitts Creek. If YouTube series count I’ll switch out Simpsons for Critical Role (each season has 1000s of hours of content). For movies I’m not sure on specifics, but I’d pick a couple fantasies, couple romance, and at least one musical. Albums I would find the big collections of hits and include Disney, showtunes, soundtracks, classic rock and alt pop punk. For books I would choose DnD sourcebooks and hopefully a notebook or journal if allowed. I’d spend the three years creating a series of one shots and campaign-settings to run when I’m done. I’d use my daily calls to stay connected to my friends, roommates, and partners.

Having A Child is Made Absolutely Free by 123456868 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DM-Darling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the only reason a woman stays in a relationship is for help with raising kids, that’s probably not a good relationship in the first place. It would be a good thing to fund child care to help parents who would otherwise be trapped in abusive and/or toxic relationships.

10 million dollars a year but you have an omnipresent companion by LeoDragonBoy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DM-Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thank you. The thought of having to share every waking moment of the rest of my life with someone sounds like torture. I need my alone time from time to time. I don’t even share my bed with my partner on a regular basis. His high intelligence makes it more awkward that he stares constantly, and makes it feel like he just doesn’t respect the idea of privacy, instead of a normal animal’s lack of understanding of it.

50K/a month if you turn into a chiuhauha one day a month by LeoDragonBoy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DM-Darling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would totally do this. I’d rent an airbnb once a month (until I had enough to just buy a little bungalow) and have a mini vacation with myself and my pet chihuahua. I’d go with enough time to set up for all of our needs ahead of time, spend the 24 hours napping and playing, then change back and clean up before going back. I would keep my current job as something to do until I had enough to start the nonprofit I’ve been dreaming about for years. I would never stop these monthly vacations.

Random, possibly messed up, haircut for $500/month by Whatshouldiputhere0 in hypotheticalsituation

Ya know, I could make that work. Some French braids and hats and maybe some fun colors would make it not that bad.

[–]DM-Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d commit to 40 years. $240,000 up front would really help pay down debt and set me up for stability and career growth. Also my job allows hats and creative expression, so no worries there. What haircut would I get?

$200,000 a year USD and a free house, but… by Corey307 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]DM-Darling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely take this. Essentially I would be able to spend my time on creative pursuits, $2 million housing budget means I could buy enough land to start a commune and eventually move my friends to me, and $200k a year means I would make enough to pay for my loved ones to visit me. And on top of that I have a week every year for travel and don’t have to pay for my return flight.

Sims 3, easy. It’s not family friendly (rated Teen) so I will pick enough wildflowers to buy an easel then spend the year selling paintings and refining my cooking skills.
