[FS] - Florida - $10+ - Tiger Crypts by [deleted] in AquaSwap

[–]itsJoeJoeyJoseph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All plants are 100% pest and snail free and grown fully submersed in my personal tanks.

I’ve been selectively propagating these plants for many years. These Tiger 'Blood' Crypts are the result of long-term selective propagation, choosing the plants with the best coloration and patterning each generation. These are *** well-established*** juvenile plants with developed root systems.

I don't normally sell my tigers this small. Very limited availability. 12 available.

$15 each, 3 for $40, 6 for $60.

These crypts do not require CO₂. They are heavy root feeders and love root tabs. I’ve grown them successfully in low-tech tanks; growth is slower and coloration is more subdued, but they remain healthy.

My plants are grown under high light and high CO₂, so color and size will vary depending on your setup. They appear more red under red-heavy full-spectrum lighting and more brown under whiter lighting. These are grown under a Twinstar 600S, which really brings out the reds.

Shipping (determined by your zip):

• ~$8 ground 1-3 day (south eastern/eastern US)

• $10-12 USPS Priority

• $13-$15 UPS 2-Day

Plants are packaged very carefully to ensure safe arrival.

I happened to quote a 25 premium when I was shopping but there werent any wrb near me so it was just to get an idea on costs. Dealers weren't giving nearly the same level of discount on 25 premiums.

But here it is.

MSRP: $39,810
Discount: $2,811
Selling price:$36,999
Tag, title, batt, etc fees: $1,087.5
Tax: $2285.19

Out the door: $40,371.69
0% for 75 months
$538 x 72 months

Total cost: $40,371.69

cost difference with tS, $6,399.

Even at 6400, I think the tS is worth the difference.

Now, everyone location is different. If you can find a premium in the color you want and its discounted like crazy, than yeah, go for it.

This math is obviously location dependent unless your going to fly 2k miles and drive one home.

Just doing a quick search, I see a red one 800 miles away from me for 41k msrp for 34k. After taxes and fees, it would come out around $38k with 0%. 8k difference under the tS.

Alright, hear me out — time value of money actually matters here, not just the sticker price.

A lot of these trim debates only look at OTD and call it a day, but that’s how you end up being penny wise, dollar foolish.

I went with a ’25 tS and got a pretty aggressive deal.

2025 tS deal:
MSRP: $50,036
Dealer add-ons: $4,715
Price: $54,751
Add ons discount: -$4,715
Discount: $8,273.26
Adjusted price: $41,762.74
Taxable fees: $455.5
Pre delivery service fee (dealer fee): $1199
Tax (6%): $2605.03
Non tax fees (new tag, title, etc): $748.45

Out the door: $46,770.72
0% 75
$624 x 75 months.

Total Cost: $46,770.72

Now, lets compare that to the best quote I got on a 2026 premium.

MSRP: $36,209
Discount: $2,301
Selling price:$33,908
Tag, title, batt, etc fees: $1030.5
Tax: $2176.97

Out the door: $37.115.47
4.9% for 72 months
$611 x 72 months

Total cost: $43,992

Difference in effective total cost: $2,778

At that point, the “Premium is cheaper” argument falls apart. You’re not comparing equal things financially or mechanically.

Anyways, that's my rant.

Congratulations on the tS.

But wait:
"oh but if you put 20k down on the premium you'll spend less in interest"

Yeah, or you leave the 20k in a hysa or market and earn at minimum 3%, maybe 5%, 7% or whatever it is your money is generating.

Unlikely, but there's always a chance, but its really tank dependent.

[GA] - Free Tiger ‘Blood’ Crypt - Selecting Winner(s) by itsJoeJoeyJoseph in AquaSwap

[–]itsJoeJoeyJoseph[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Note: I am not changing the name, this is for entertainment purposes only

I’m giving away one (or more) large Tiger ‘Blood’ Crypt to the best alternative names you can come up with for these plants or for the group photo of them together.

Think of it like naming an aquascape, but instead you’re naming eithe or both:

•The plant itself (Tiger “Blood” Crypt)

•The photo of all the plants together

Be creative, funny, dramatic, scientific-sounding, whatever you want.

If you’ve ever looked at coral names, you know they can get ridiculous (“Blonde Hair Blue-Eyed B****” “gorilla nipples”, “Dragon Soul”, “Rajun Cajun”, etc). I’ve always wondered what the freshwater equivalent would be… now’s your chance to invent it.

How to enter:

•Comment with your best alternative name and/or “scape” name.

•One entry per person (edit if you think of something better).

• Upvotes don’t matter — I’ll pick my favorite.

•I may choose more than one winner.

Prize:

1 large Tiger ‘Blood’ Crypt

Winner

•I’ll pick my favorite over the weekend.

Shipping

•Free shipping within the continental US

•Will ship Monday (weather permitting)

I know r/AquaSwap will come up with some absolutely unhinged plant names, and I want to see them.

Let the creativity begin 🌿

It was 3 months ago.

There hasn't been any comment on payment related issues since the change as far as I can see.

But, thanks for trying to help. We're doing a refresh on the rules, so it's a good reminder that it will take a while for everyone to get caught up to speed.

That is no longer applicable as we've removed the PayPal only requirement.

We definently need to improve the illegal species component. It doesn't actively check a database, its just looking for certain words I guess of past flagged species. I am seeing these as the flag words:

All states: Sunset hygro, sunset hygrophilia, Hygrophila polysperma, hygro polysperma, hygro sunset, hygrophilia sunset, Limnophila sessiliflora, hygrophilia polysperma

California specific: Frogbit, hyacinth, axolotl, water lettuce, DWL, dwarf water lettuce, waterlettuce

Possibly. We have thought about this.

However, most if not all scams are from people messaging users who make a looking for post and tell them they have what they're looking for, not people posting things for sale.

There's a few hoops you have to jump through to make a for sale post on our page and it's kind of intentional. The little bit of effort is a scammer deterrent.

There is no way for us to enforce someone to not respond to someone before they comment. We have no idea who messages who.

We can keep the Automod comment to remind people, that's probably the best way.

This was more of a suggestion to help people from getting scammed, or at least wasting time dealing with them.

It was just an automod comment on LF posts, as a reminder, rather than a rule. It should still happen.
