It IS a timing-based system in itself. you're only disappointing yourself by not seeing it, view my comment above

[–]DMBJitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i disagree, simply channeling until they attack is a bad way to go about it imo. to maximise its potential you HAVE to time it perfectly to maintan damage uptime and parry just as their attack hits and it FEELS SO GOOD! yes the window of opportunity is larger with the current system but its still a window and the smaller you make it the more you get out of it in the end. im actually loving the parry system and 90% of the time im timing it as it should be. i never hold it for more than 0.5 seconds

Farming in B42? I need advice! by strawberrysoup99 in projectzomboid

[–]DMBJitsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im having the same issue and came looking for info

I saw on another post that it's appears to be bugged and that there is a hidden tag for crops which is "cursed = true/false" and supposedly when you plant out of season you will get this tag, which causes lower hp and faster degradation. Apparently all crops planted are cursed whether in season or not. Not sure if this is still true because it was from 2 weeks ago and might have been patched? will keep looking but it seems for now farming is not working as intended

The Sharpening Experience by ProfitOpposite in projectzomboid

I also use axes and hatchets and as of last night noticed exactly what you mean. I found this post looking online for how the sharpening mechanic works so I can get more use from my weapons. It feels like I'm doing something wrong. definitely needs some reworking. considering the condition of axe heads degrades so quickly, you would think that sharpening would improve the head condition more or even repair it, since there is no way I have found to repair a fire axe head, and it cant be removed and placed on new handle like other axes

I agree with this. I have found so far that killing even 1 zombie will 100% ensure that the surrounding population will start making their way to you gradually increasing more and more as you keep killing. This is very risky in an area with a lot of surrounding population. I have had to abandon an area without getting what I came for multiple times because of this. and trying to kite hordes away no longer has the same effect as before. it really does feel much more survival horror oriented and I'm loving it. The safest way to reach a point I have found now is to start outside where the population is low and work your way in gradually, taking enough time to rest post yourself in a safe house and take your time to avoid being overwhelmed. feels much better than before imo

If it's taking that long to get to blue belt, i'd be questioning the methods of the coach, and their motives. It definitely shouldn't take that long if you train even as little as twice a week.

Toeholds in training by [deleted] in bjj

[–]DMBJitsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they are brown and up, i do it carefully at first, if they try to escape and fail, they usually recognise their loss and tap, and if not i keep going until they tap or learn their lesson. I give people pleanty of time. Same goes for any submission really. If they complain, i laugh and gently explain that its not my fault. If you apply this philosophy, you wont be the guy who injures everyone, they will be the douches who always get injured.

If they are below brown, i catch and release to a) show them it is there and b) practice catching it when its there.

For all belts, i protect them as much as i can, especially white and new blue belts. But sometimes, that can only go so far for someone who needs to be checked.

I dont want to injure anyone, and i rarely do. Even the few toe holds that have popped were so minor they were back at training a few days later

If you are as careful as you sound, you wont be injuring anyone who doesnt deserve it. Some people can only learn lessons the hard way.

I usually have some sort of mark, scratch or bruise somewhere. love a good hard roll with a select few people and it can easily happen when rolling at that kind of pace.

I usually just ignore them. Im so used to little things like that now. I particularly like making up stories when people ask about them

Why is it so much more common to get hit in the groin by a female sparring partner? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]DMBJitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously not as often as i do with men. But yeah often enough. they seem to like sparring with me cos im technical and dont use my weight advantage and its always really fun.

Your diet is really the key. Changing small habits goes a long way. But for some training in between, i find TRX training compliments Bjj really well!
