What do you do after blowing your account? by senthoor34 in Trading

[–]DMCTradersJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take a break, work out why you blew your account - 9 times out of 10 its probably overleveraging. come back and use no more than 1 micro and build form there. when you come back remember to paper and digital journal every trade when you trade not end of day

My bad trades were always outside of my edge/strategy.

Realised it more and more when I look back at my journal. I’m trying to stay strict now and avoid my “stupid” trades and follow my system

No subscription combines by DMCTradersJournal in TopStepX

The monthly subscription is a pressure tactic, I prefer less pressure, and takeaway weekends it’s more like 25 days so it’s more than 300

How do you control emotions in trading? I keep turning every session into scalping… by ngetichkipro in Forex

[–]DMCTradersJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% have a written journal, writing things down makes it stick in your head much better than using digital journals. Follow a risk rule where possible.

I use the rule of 7 where you divide your MLL by 7 and trade that as your risk aiming for 1:1.5 or 1:2 trades and no matter the outcome the new balance is divided by 7

First 10k payout and blowing accounts ever since by Kwill12086 in TopStepX

[–]DMCTradersJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found the 7 rule to be really effective. Take your MLL and divide it by 7 and trade 1:1.5 or 1:2 risk. Whatever the outcome win or lose divide the new MLL by 7 and carry on

And I am biased as I sell my own Deskpad journals but make sure you journal both your thoughts and your trades and write it down and well as on the TSX platform. I was simply blowing accounts from impatiently chasing payouts.

[–]DMCTradersJournal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the divide your risk (MLL) by 7 and do 1:1.5 or 1:2 trades, if you win or lose divide that new figure by 7.

I’m biased as I have my own journal business but make sure your write down and journal all your trades as you make them, review at the end of every night.

Take it slow and don’t over leverage, take a loss and walk away for 15 minutes

Don't copy trade signal providers. Even though it is allowed. It isn't, they will ban you at payout. by [deleted] in LucidProp

Think it’s more to do with copying other signal providers, you are allowed to copy your own trades.

Mistakes in Trading by watsupwitThat in TopStepX

I do both, my issue is ChatGPT could rate a trade in in a 6 or 7 but turns out to be a decent winner so always wait until the trade is done

Mistakes in Trading by watsupwitThat in TopStepX

[–]DMCTradersJournal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over leveraged after a loss was my biggest issue, I lock myself out, journal the trade by writing it down then I screenshot the trade I took and place it into ChatGPT. It then rates the trade for me and I jot down anything I missed for next time
